J.J. Abrams will not be returning to direct this movie as he is currently working on Star Wars: Episode VII. Though no director has been confirmed, many forums have begun speculating. While some may think that without Lindelof & Abrams, this instalment may move away from the general theme that the first two instalments of this reboot has set, which may not be a bad thing. New ideas and direction will keep this franchise going. As long as they don’t take the famous tag line a little too seriously:

To boldly go where no man has gone before.
