Was VGX a Total Failure?

Sean Halliday of Pixel Gate writes:

"The VGX! The flagship show for gamers by gamers. Well. that was the idea anyway. What we actually got instead was a show that awkwardly limped from one already known game to the next, with the odd joke aimed at transgenders thrown in. It was bad, as in really bad, and if these guys were your friends, you would’ve pulled them back and just told them to end it. But no-one could tell the VGX to end, as unfortunate as that was."

There's a pretty big reason why it wasn't a utter failure stated in the article ^^

Goro4211d ago

As far as i'm concerned, it's a failure when it makes me want to rip my eyes out with a toothpick.

king_george4211d ago

sorry dude. it was a failure. end of story

abzdine4211d ago

Total failure like most "journalists" nowadays..

Pixelgate4211d ago

It gave huge espouse to a genuinely interest game that not many people had even heard of. I am of course talking about No Man's Sky. That's a bug positive for the team working on the game. That's the main reason why the VGX wasn't a total failure. Doesn't mean I was a fan of show, far from it, as I described in the article.

Just because one game received exposure that it needed thanks to VGX, doesn't mean VGX wasn't a total failure. At best it means that No Man's Sky was successful at receiving exposure, but it didn't need VGX to get that at all. VGX was a waste of time, 3 hours of failure.

You think 1 game was good enough to save it? Wow.

MorePowerOfGreen4211d ago

Pretty much seemed like they were not into it, due to Sony not having much to offer after letting the world know this clown Jeoff and GT etc are Sony leg jumpers.

The videos showing the two guys complaining pretty much summed up what I said above. Videos making fun of Kinect, XB1's name etc. etc. and all Sony PS4 praise in the skits

Crossbones4211d ago

It was a failure because Geoff Keighley was Over Hyping the show and False Advertising.

No Man's Sky, Broken Age gameplay and Joel Banderas gave me pants tent.

Fallout 4 VGX Announcement Coming On Strong?

Bethesda has yet to confirm Fallout 4 for production despite the huge anticipation and hype shown by the fans. This was the case until yesterday, when a leak image somehow hints that Fallout 4 is in development.

There has been numerous articles based on that same tweet. I refuse to get my hopes up since I do that too much anytime Fallout 4 anything gets rumored/speculated. If anything I'll be shocked if it gets shown at VGA 2014.

nX3870d ago

Shocked is the right word, I wouldn't expect that already. They're certainly not working on last gen platforms and it's still a bit too early for a game like Fallout 4.

Pogmathoin3869d ago

I want this game so bad, but now cynical of anything about it as well now.... Just announce it...

gangsta_red3870d ago

I'm right there with Paytaa. We have been trolled since New Vegas of a Fallout 4. And everytime it never happens. No way am I going to even think that a new fallout is coming. NOPE!

I REFUSE!

*please..please...please be a new Fallout!!*

Roccetarius3870d ago

Probably another hoax like the rest of it was, while Bethesda didn't deny it to use it as free advertisement.

irishyort3870d ago

Definitely wont be an announcement. Bethesda people have even stated there wont be another Fallout anytime soon

Apocalypze3870d ago

Anybody here wants a fallout game for ps vita on the go? Would be amazing!

irishyort3869d ago

@apocalypze dont know why you got the disagrees. I'd frikken love it!

I love Borderlands 2 for my Vita. Cant stop playing it. Fallout on Vita would ruin my free time but i dont care

Basement Dwellers: The gaming community's self-image

A creature of basement-banished isolation, their faces a contorted cross between Jon Heder and two kilos of silly putty, with skin the colour and texture of a peeled achacha. That is what most people will have you believe is an apt description of the average gamer – a being so out of touch with reality that their only escape from the terrors of social interaction is to take refuge in the sweet embrace of a virtual space. Though even more hand-clammily terrifying is the gaming community’s absolute lack of interest in a much needed reconstruction of our self-image.
