lookS good!

@below.. some say its a generic mmo but i guess since they did not show much you could say so but this is bungie we talking about... i am sure there is more to this game..

Abriael3848d ago

It does. Destiny is one of my most anticipated games for 2014, even if i'm a bit sad it comes late :(

fenome3848d ago (Edited 3848d ago )

I was not amused with the release date myself as this is one of my most anticipated titles, but I want them to be able to make this what I want it to be so I'm willing to wait it out. All I ask is PLEASE give me local co-op, that would make this game perfect for me and how I play with my wifey. That's one of the things that makes Borderlands so special to me, local co-op, I need more of that in my life..

In the meantime, here's a little breakdown of some of the news lately, more to come in the very near future..

Even if it's a "generic mmo" and even if it ends up getting 8's.. it will still be better than killzone SF! lol SO ill def pick it up for my ps!

kingcasper3848d ago

it looks bad.. looks like a generic mmo shooter..

preorder cancelled

Ashunderfire863848d ago

What was so bad about it? You will regret cancelling it when it comes out. I am keeping my preorder along with the Division. I can't wait to see these games flood the pages of Twitch and Ustream.

kingcasper3848d ago

division looks alot better then i expected thats for sure.. but destiny looks bad.. everything about it looked bad/generic..

bungie has only done halo and halo had huge backstory.. now bungie has no one holding there hand.. and they look to be failing..

ill buy destiny a month after it releases if im wrong.. but so far it looks very bad

Stevino3213848d ago

Opinions are opinions. I guess I won't be seeing you on this game.

MasterCornholio3847d ago

Ignore Casper. He's just mad that PlayStation owners have access to an exclusive Beta and content.

PurpatraitorMGS3848d ago

For me, the trailer was a bit underwhelming....

first1NFANTRY3848d ago

Yeah looks very underwhelming. It's got halo written all over it and I just couldn't get into that game.

My_Name_BTW_Is_Dante3848d ago

It doesn't look like Halo at all. If anything it looks like a Warframe clone.

inf3cted13848d ago

The grenades look like halo (at least one of them looked like a plasma grenade)

CYCLEGAMER3848d ago

It just looks ok IMO, nothing amazing, it kind of looks generic. Can someone explain what about this game is so visually appealing, or are we just excited for a new IP?

_FantasmA_3847d ago

Yeah it doesn't really look good. I mean it just doesn't look original. The first time I heard about the game I though of Borderlands in space. It didn't help when they showed the co op gameplay of The Division at E3 and then Destiny right after. The Division just stole their moment in the spotlight with the co op goodness and Destiny looked like it was just too little, too late. I didn't like Halo and this just seems too similar. Hopefully I'm wrong, but if I'm not, I won't really care because there are shooters aplenty.

lastofgen3848d ago

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm really not feeling this game.
I like how the scope is supposed to be expansive, but I'm not excited yet.
Maybe that'll change during the beta.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter388d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood388d ago (Edited 388d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro388d ago (Edited 388d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881388d ago (Edited 388d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell387d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig388d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast388d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername388d ago (Edited 388d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g388d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka388d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai539d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface538d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard535d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
