And it would be even more if they had them in stock. Norway is currently outsold, and probably won't get in a new shipment before new year..

johndoe112114218d ago

Sony is going to reach that 5 million mark a lot sooner than they estimated. That is as long as there's supplies.

MasterCornholio4218d ago

Sony is dirt balling the predictions. They already knew that the demand would be sky high which is why they underestimated the sales in order to impress the stock holders

Apple does this all the time.

Gamingcapacity4218d ago

They probably made those estimates based on knowing how many they can produce out of the factory.

Well for starters I and 4 other mates have yet to pick up our ps4's from jb hifi. We were late to preorder so we have been put on the waiting list for the next shipment just before Christmas here in Australia. The sales numbers are just waiting to grow further. It's all up to Sony to meet demand at this point.

saimcheeda4218d ago

I really interested to know what the real numbers are considering 2.1 in itself is extremely impressive!

sprinterboy4218d ago

I reckon there at about 2.5/2.7 mill. Prob ably hit 3.5 million by New yr and 3 million plus upto March. They will be sitting at 7 million imo by fiscal year, 2 million more than estimated

Square makes some very weird decisions.

CrashMania1d 5h ago

This is really stupid and just baffling, the explanation for it is also a big non answer, very disappointing.

jeromeface16h ago

its pretty obvious they lost the source code

Scissorman1d 4h ago

they are so going to try to sell the extra content later down the line.

Eonjay1d 2h ago

Square Enix has really gone down the drain. Even FF7: Rebirth, while being an incredible acheivment seemed very sloppy in some areas... namely performance. These folks wonder why their games don't sell but aren't putting in a decent effort.

FinalFantasyFanatic1d 2h ago

It's been like that for a while, they've just gotten progressively worse over time, this game is a bit of a monkey's paw situation. You get the remaster, but you don't get the War Of The Lions content in exchange.

They seem to be suggesting that people didn't like the new stuff in WotL, hence it's non-inclusion, but they're probably secretly planning to add it as DLC down the line, they just don't want to tell people that because they think it'll get an even worse reaction. When they do eventually add it, they'll be like, "We listened". Of course, it won't be free though, so they'll still get flak for it. On the other hand, maybe I'm too cynical.

ZeekQuattro23h ago

I could see that happening actually.
