Under the Radar is back from its sabbatical with a look at "The Girl and The Robot" by Flying Carpet Games, an action/adventure game successfully finishing up its KickStarter campaign.
Action platformers are classic genre. Ever since the days of Portal, players have sought out these games as they typically provide 2 things: challenging puzzles that make you think outside the box, and a fun narrative.
Console Obsession writes: "The Girl and the Robot is in no way a competitor to The Last Guardian or ICO. By their standards, this is a pretty sub-par game, jumping on the “two characters putting aside their differences and working together” preachy bandwagon. First impressions of this successfully funded Kickstarter game is the obvious drop in the quality of the graphics – if anything, it looks like a PS2 HD Remaster. Animations and character movement also feel very stiff – not very good considering the game features combat."
Sean @ FG: The Girl and The Robot have made their way to the PS4 and it’s a promising start for a fledgling developer. The FingerGuns review.
