"In case you hadn’t noticed, excitement for Ackk Studios’ debut title, Two Brothers, has been pretty high here at oprainfall. After plenty of news coverage, previews and interviews, many among the staff were ready to give the full game a shot. The game suffered a bit of a setback after a game-breaking bug was discovered that ended up pushing the release back about a month, but eager fans finally got their hands on the game on November 11. I tried to avoid the pre-release hype, as I didn’t want it to paint an early picture of the game before I even got a chance to try it. So, does the final product live up to the hype?"
Jack thinks it’s a widely accepted fact that indie games are becoming prominent within PC gaming. With the introduction of Kickstarter, not to mention the monumental success of Minecraft, independent studios have rushed to monopolize upon the growing market. Two Brothers, the first game by Ackk Studios, features a Gameboy Color-esque aesthetic, with the soundtrack and gameplay to match. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign in September of 2012, as well as approval on Steam Greenlight, the game was published on Steam in December 2013.
One of the best games to revisit the 8-bit era, Two Brothers by Ackk Studios, will be receiving a Director’s Cut. The game has already been a success for the independent developers and the new release will feature new content.
Two Brothers has been out on PC for some time, but AckkStudios hasn’t said much about the Wii U version as of late. No need to worry though: the game is still coming to Nintendo’s console.
On Twitter earlier today, AckkStudios confirmed that Two Brothers is still in the works for Wii U. Keep in mind that it’s being worked on by “another developer” who apparently handles Wii U ports quite well.
