The VGU staff discuss some critically acclaimed games that they have never gotten around to playing.
Tom Henderson and Jeff Grubb suggest a 2.5D Metroidvania-style God of War spin-off is in development, set in Greece before Kratos becomes a god.
I wouldn't mind playing that, I'm guessing somewhat in the vein of Prince Of Persia:TLC but hopefully with better graphics.
🤔 Interesting. Nothing wrong with switching it up to a different genre of game for a side project. Hope they don't try to do that to a main entry.
Discover 10 timeless video games from the past that remain absolutely playable today. From Chrono Trigger to DOOM, these classics have aged like fine wine!
Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.
Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
PlayStation - The Concert is a magical musical experience for fans of the brand.
Every single one of these games is wonderful. I hope everyone gets the chance to play each at some point or another.
Half life and half life 2 for me.
I'll try and get them done before 3 comes out.
A bit controversial, but I keep trying to get through TLoU without success. I adore the setting and story, but something about the mechanics just don't gel with me. Move to a new area > stealth or run around or go in guns (and limited ammo) blazing > cutscene > repeat.
I'll finish the game, eventually. And I'm not contesting its "greatness". The game is polished and pure AAA magnificence. I just don't fancy the flow of it, personally. Question to those who have really sunk into the game. Does the game-play open up later? Or is it essentially what the first three or so hours entail?
critically accailmed game series i still havent played
Zelda ,megaman, metroid , castlevania, mass effect, star wars knights of the old republic,half-life, power stone, persona/shin megani tensei, Baldurs Gate, World of Warcraft, Neverwinter, Little Big planet ,gears of war, starcraft, marvel vs capcom, Journey, Beyond 2 souls.
They're listing games like Uncharted, God of War, Mass Effect lol. I think a lot of gamers are aware and has probably played games in those series
Also, if everyone says Psychonauts is underrated, then is it really? I always see that game pop up on lists as an overlooked game yet all these people have played it
