Battlefield 4 - Dice Has 'No Plans' To Add Old Squad Join Feature From Battlefield 3

By now, many of you may have noticed that Battlefield 4 lacks any sort of option to allow console players to create Squads before attempting to enter into games with fellow friends and teammates.

You can't always defend DICE and say it's EA's fault. Our clan leader is one of the providers, and we had a DICE member on our TS3 doing testing to find a certain bug, and we had many questions and I asked him "Why do you only allow 4 letters for tags, when you could allow 4 letters + 4 non letters so clans can actually use their tag" and he didn't have a good reason why and said he would forward it to the team, no change has been made yet.

Then look at the BF4 knife. Press 6 if your on PC, now go to slash someone, it does the Animation knife! (unlike BF3) so what is the point of allowing someone to take out their knife to do an animation knife when you can just press F or whatever and do it this way?

DICE has made some horrible horrible mistakes with BF4 which had nothing to do with EA, them releasing it to beat CoD to the punch is EA's fault, but there's many other problems that squarely go on DICE.

IMO Battlefield is moving away from the true greatness it use to be, now it's playing catch up with CoD trying to be similar only with vehicles... Everyone I know wants BF2 only with BF4 graphics.

I agree, I blame EA for rushing the game to compete with COD. Everything else I blame DICE for. I just really hope they come out with self-hosted servers soon. A 32/64 match with 500 tickets goes too quickly.

No more self-hosted servers, less classes, less factions, worthless tablet commander mode, no bots, and worst of all, no mod support. But hey, it's got a super linear single-player campaign!

Battlefield is trying to follow in CoD's footsteps by being more spectacle with less features. Is a BF2 with next-gen graphics so much to ask for?

This essentially cripples the team based aspect of Battlefield....it irritates me to no end that I can't play the game with my squadmates on PS4, unless we get in an open room by luck , even then its hell getting on the same team

If Dice doesn't fix this it will kill the games longevity..... Its turning into COD!!!

I use battlelog to find a server on PS3 with enough room for my squad and then join using my computer. Then the squad joins me. I know it isn't ideal but it works for me. I like joining games from my computer because you can see server ping on PS3.

I found this "new method" horrible. Trying to find a server and then have a friend join is horrible so far because almost every server is full or they joined in on the other team.

It works better if you use battlelog to search for a match. It shows server capacity and ping for whatever platform you are using. Not ideal but it works.

Need to fix the Xbox one version before thinking of anything else, I was so looking forward to 64 players, not been able to play one yet without it freezing or kicking me out and not even seen one of the second assault maps

From what I understand, you just join a player's game (and if you have the option enabled) you will automatically form a squad with them. Not sure how that works with multiple players. Gonna have to get aqcuianted with that when I open my copy.

They're pushing toward that battlelog app real hard from what I understand. I've heard it's easier to squad that way.

im not sure how if they are trying compete with cod which is amazingly easy to get a group of people to play with this wasnt in the game from the get go not just an addition that has for some reason taken them this long to realize... i mean its easy to get into a game with friends but its annoying because you do end up playing on opposite teams sometimes. as of now tho you can only either not play the game or deal with it and considering how annoying i find COD online to be now... im just dealing with it because its the lesser of 2 evils for me personally for my FPS fix

Developers shouldn't be improving graphics whilst chopping games up and having less features/content than the previous game for the new next-gen consoles. (i.e. Battlefield 4, Forza 5)

I hope this isn't a trend for the first year of both consoles.

I seriously have to question the choices some devs make, squadding up before joining a game is very useful, i used it all the time in BC2. It should be a no-brainer decision, taking it out is baffling.

Paying customers should have a little more say in decisions like this, imo.

What the? I used the squad feature every time I play bf3 with my brothers which is almost every time I play. This is BULL. If it works why not bring it over to BF4? I've been playing BF4 with my brother on ps4 and its much harder to find a match where we can play together. We eventually do but it takes a while. I was hoping this feature would come back. This is a disappointment.
