Drawn from the Quatermain novels of H. Rider Haggard Deadfall Adventures is a trap-laden FPS with globe-trotting treasure hunters, evil occultists, and a dash of dangerous romance.
"In the 80’s, one of my favorite movie franchises was the Indiana Jones series. I’m not sure what it was that so captured my attention. It could have been the thrill of exploring ancient temples, watching centuries-old puzzles get solved, or seeing how Dr. Jones would outwit the bad guys who were hot on his heels, trying to steal away the treasure he was seeking for their own fiendish plans. Nordic Games brings us Deadfall Adventures, which promises a first-person shooter with the trappings of an adventure game with a vibe reminiscent of those early Indiana Jones films. So does it deliver action and excitement like Raiders of the Lost Ark or will it crack and disappoint like a Crystal Skull? Read on, adventure seekers, and find out."
Deadfall Adventures was released way back in 2013. The game has a poor reputation, but looking back it certainly didn't deserve it.
I really liked it.
I even own the collector's edition, though I got it for dirt cheap off Amazon years ago.
Really is a solid game though.
Neil writes: "The Xbox Series X and PS5 unveils may be the hottest topic in gaming at this time, but for many it's all just about the games. And if you fit into that category then there is only one thing to worry about this week - the latest bargains being delivered via the Xbox Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale for 16th-22nd June 2020. And once more there are a whole host of brilliant Xbox One and Xbox 360 discounts in place."
Zach Murphy writes: 'The last generation of games consoles was incredible for the FPS genre. Like it or not, Call of Duty experienced the height of its popularity over the PS3 and Xbox 360 years and games like Singularity and the original Prey were both excellent, if underrated.'.
Still on the fence about checking this one out, thanks for the alternative perspective.
