You can't fight facts Wii U haters

GarrusVakarian3822d ago (Edited 3822d ago )

You also cant fight the WiiU's poor sales numbers.

@Below

Calm down, i was just replying to his comment. His comment isn't fact its opinion.

"The fact that the Wii U had more and critically better games at launch is a fact."

Oh, you're one of those guys that doesn't understand the concept of opinions and refuses to accept other peoples. *Walks away*

Neonridr3822d ago (Edited 3822d ago )

And sales numbers have anything to do with the launch exclusives how? Are you just trying to start up a dumb argument?

MONKEYDLUFFY3822d ago

The fact that the Wii U had more and critically better games at launch is a fact.

wheresmymonkey3822d ago

I personallly can't, but i think nintendo's list of exclusives for the next few months i'll do a bloody good job.

The sad thing about this article is that it confirmed something i've always known and hated. and thats that hype wins. if you can get the mob on your side it doesn't matter if you have the best product or the best games. And Sony are masters of hype.

GarrusVakarian3822d ago (Edited 3822d ago )

@wheresmymonkey

And they are masters of games too........they are KNOWN for their exclusives. Your statement makes no sense. Look how many exclusives came out for the PS3 in this year alone.

TLOU > anything that is currently on WiiU. But hey, that's just my opinion!

@below

I know, i went a little off-topic there, i apologise. Its still all a matter of opinion though when it comes to who has the best launch games. And MONKEYDLUFFY was expressing his/hers as fact.

Neonridr3822d ago (Edited 3822d ago )

@Lukas - this article is about LAUNCH exclusives. Not exclusives in general. Nobody is denying the fact that Sony doesn't have good exclusives.

All 3 consoles have great exclusives, they act as the deciding factor for the most part when it comes down to which console you want to buy.

-EDIT- Lukas, I agree that any opinions about launch titles are simply that, OPINIONS. If the launch titles you played for your console are fantastic to you, then that's all that matters.

Yep3822d ago

Lol, suddenly sales numbers are important.

MasterCornholio3822d ago

OMG You opened pandoras box.

ROFL

weekev153822d ago

@ wheresmymonkey bubs up for intelligent post. Sony have the mob on their side due to a stack of good games towards the end of ps3 lifecycle so they trust Sony to deliver a great product this time round.

Unfortunately it means that some people now struggle to be objectiveand look at the packages on offer.

If yyou're objective you will look at whats on offer and see Nintendo currently has the best offering, however I do concede this could change over the next 12 months. I am pleased to be a Nintendo fan and hope they continue to churn out great quality titles.

N4g_null3822d ago

Here is a question, who still plays the last of us? If you judge it as a game then it will fall short.

this is why the station is more telling in sonys play station... they should drop the idea that they make games and embrace that they are just a media company trying to creat an interactive tv station with a different distribution system that can play games also.

ive come to this conclusion because sony has failed time and time again to beat nintendo at their own game. They simply mimicked nintendo with their kart racing, smash clone, crash died and even came out on the game boy. The ps move yet no games even on par withwhat ms had...

it was nice that everyone believed no one liked nintendo franchise thing nintendo listened to fans and fixed most of their gameplay engines... then sales exploded. Yet when someone complains about what sony is lacking we are dismissed, then the sales slump.

truthfully people are buying ps4 off hype and hope right now. The graphics are great but if you think that way then ms ryse should also warrant a purchase. Or maybe the ps4 is bought just to teach ms a lesson.

I wont be teaching any company a lesson, if they make what people want then people will continue to buy. What happens if all those sales where just scalpers, its happened before.

Shnazzyone3821d ago

Guess that means wii was the best system ever then. And ps3 was the worst for most of the last gen. Glad to know sales numbers matter again.

I got a WiiU on launch and there was very little for to get. If you are a gamer who has a 360, PS3 or PC you most likely will have played many of the WiiU launch games when they released originally. There was ZombieU and Super Mario, that was it.

Gemmol3822d ago

same with ps4 and xbox one bro, same games from this gen, with a one or two exclusives, it seems Mario from Wii U launch have a higher rating then all 3 systems first party exclusive

OrangePowerz3822d ago

PS4 and Xbone have games from this gen as well, but those games didn`t launch a year ago and only a few weeks before the consoles came out so if you planned on getting one of those consoles you could just wait the 2-3 weeks until you buy the game and play it on the new consoles.

Since I didn`t buy any of those games on current gen I have a huge amount of games to play now. When I got my Wii U I had all of those multiplatform games finished long before the console came out so I was stuck with Super Mario and ZombiU until the Lego Undercover came out.

link2Dpast3822d ago

nintendo is literally the only company with exclusives no denying that hands down destroys when it comes to exclusives. Sony and Microsoft have lost perspective in whats "Gaming" in my hey day final fantasy on xbox was unheard of even taboo even sonic teaming up on a nintendo system. all this is all for publicity we all know who the foundation of gaming but you always need comptetion for the crowd. example wrestling was at its highest when there was WcW and WWF only example i could think of lol

Loadedklip3821d ago (Edited 3821d ago )

True Wii U did have better exclusives at launch but it also lacked a lot of Third party games or the third party games they had lacked features, DLC, online, or cost too much (Mass Effect 3 full price while other consoles got the Masst Effect TRILOGY for the same price).

That's the main problem with Nintendo consoles ... the third party games are either missing, come out late, are inferior versions, the fans don't buy them, third parties don't advertise the Wii U versions ... lots of problems all revolving around third parties.

Both Xbox One and PS4 have some good games and some bad games.

Xbox has Forza, Dead Rising and Killer Instinct.
PS4 has Killzone, Resogun and Flower.

It's all about the multiplatforms at the moment though, wait a year and then compare game line-ups.

Yep3822d ago

Statistically speaking, the Wii U.

Killzone After a Decade in Hibernation

It's been 10 years since Killzone: Shadow Fall arrived for PlayStation 4 early adopters, and there's no sign of another sequel.

Obscure_Observer175d ago

Sadly it was dumped by Guerrilla to focus on Horizon games only. Mainline, VR and Multiplayer.

Vengeance1138175d ago

lmao sadly? Are you pretending to have actually played the series lol Sorry bud, no Killzone on Xbox.

Cacabunga175d ago

With the downfall of COD and BF, Killzone def. has a chance to make a groundbreaking comeback

175d ago
Notellin175d ago (Edited 175d ago )

What a low-functioning reply here typical of the fanboy N4G community.

Rimeskeem175d ago

“Dumped”

I think it’s called moving on.

Barlos175d ago (Edited 175d ago )

They brought out 4 main games and 2 spin offs: one on PSP and one on Vita. That's a decent run for any series. I also understand that Shadow Fall wasn't a success commercially despite it coming out at PS4 launch, and as a big Killzone fan even I couldn't get into it, so I think Sony/Guerrilla could see it was time to move on.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love another Killzone game in the vein of KZ2 but it's just not happening. Hell, I'd even take a remake or remaster of the first 3 games.

I'd hardly say it was "dumped" though, it spanned 3 console generations and 2 handheld generations.

1Victor175d ago

@obscured:”Sadly it was dumped by Guerrilla to focus on Horizon games only. Mainline, VR and Multiplayer”

Happily it was dumped by Guerrilla to focus on Horizon games only. Mainline, VR and Multiplayer( edited to reflect the writer true feelings and allegiance)
Kill zone was a FPS far ahead of its glitched competitors with nauseating bad camera angles, 10 years old screaming curses like a drunk sailor and bot aiming assist.

ChasterMies175d ago

“Sadly”?

The Horizon games were among the best games of all time. Killzone Shadowfail wasn’t.

Shane Kim174d ago

True, but damn the memories of KZ2 multiplayer. Still no MP as fun as that to this date.

Mr_cheese174d ago

Dumped and shelved are two different things

Tacoboto174d ago

And Sony as a whole dumped the FPS genre so they wouldn't have products competing with COD and (until purchase) Destiny.

GoodGuy09175d ago

I loved the KZ2+3 campaigns and MP in 2. There could be so much more done with the franchise. Horizon although good, I wish they'd go back to this wonderful IP. Take a break from Horizon please.

Flawlessmic175d ago

Agreed dude, I would absolutely love a reboot of the series, one can only hope that either resistance or killzone makes a return.

Have nothing but great memories, especially of the first 3 games, but all 4 were show stoppers graphically.

blackbeld175d ago

To making it a successful reboot they have to change that buttons layout! Make it playable like the cod button layout. Otherwise I’ll skipping it again.

Rynxie175d ago

And that's the reason why many fps games failed. Instead of being original and catering to it's fans, they tried to make it like cod. No, kz doesn't need cod button layout. It needs to be like it was on kz2 or balanced liked kz3.

Lightning77175d ago

I think Kill Zone would do great in Sony's LS push. As well as MAG reboot and bring back Resistance into LS.

Sharky231174d ago

@Lightning77

I think WarHawk would have been a great Live service game.

thorstein175d ago

Killzone games were so polished. The gameplay was just simple joy. MP was one of the best experiences.

I remember KZ3, just staring at how awesome they animated the water and then getting wasted because of it.

P_Bomb175d ago

It’s been a decade? Now I’m sad.

LiViNgLeGaCY174d ago

I hear ya bud. We're due for a revival.

Goodbye New Mario, I Won't Miss You

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the first Mario 2D game in almost two decades without the New Super Mario art style, and it looks all the better for it

misterandy318d ago

Am I missing something? It looks exactly the same, just higher resolution… Is this sarcasm?

specialguest318d ago

Yes, you're not observant if you think it looks exactly the same. It immediately appeared different to me from the start. Mario's 3D model will always be the same, so not much difference there. However, the animation they've given the Super Mario Wonder makes it look more like a CGI Mario animation where as the New Mario Bros game looks more like typical video game animation movements

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

__SteakDeck__318d ago

@specialguest Yeah those animations are insane.

FinalFantasyFanatic318d ago

You really didn't notice the difference? It's really obvious, I was surprised when I first saw the trailer.

Asplundh317d ago

"Am I missing something?"

Your glasses maybe?

Juancho51318d ago

This Mario game looks great, getting a switch for this and Mario RPG. CANT WAIT, TITS JACKED.

Profchaos318d ago

Yeah I liked how much more emotion could be conveyed through the new style at first glance I didn't see much difference but then rewatching the trailer I'm seeing more and more animations that remind me of the Mario artwork from the manual of smb3

Outlawzz317d ago

I hated the new super Mario bros Style. This new one seems a lot more expressive and less generic. I hope it's a good game

shinoff2183317d ago

I prefer the 2d Mario's. Me and my girl have played them all together and mario galaxy , Mario odyssey. The 2nd player option is extremely eh

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor366d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar366d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg365d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz149365d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance1138366d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim366d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC365d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance1138365d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle365d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix76365d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM365d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware730366d ago (Edited 366d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger365d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca365d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy365d ago (Edited 365d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

potatoseal365d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright365d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.
