Holy Warp has released a PC demo of Chaos Domain, a run and gun hardcore platformer game that is powered by Unreal Engine.
GameGrin's Matt Girdler writes: "As a games enthusiast I generally tend to find things I like in even the most uninspired games, but Chaos Domain is one of those rare titles from which I am unable to draw any enjoyment whatsoever. This side-scrolling, Contra-inspired shoot-em'-up is one of the most dull, unimaginative and flatout unlikeable games I’ve played."
SteamFirst: Before I begin, I really want to stress that I do not take pleasure in giving a bad review. The games I typically get were done by small teams that have a passion for games and just wanted to create something they would want to play. It really is not fun to walk past these labors of love and defecate all over them, but sometimes love can sometimes be…misguided. With that said, everyone grab your umbrellas because here is Chaos Domain.
Avoiderdragon: The constant stream of platformers, as readers here can plainly see from the number of titles from that genre reviewed on this website, is perhaps starting to wear on gamers a bit as there seems to be no end to them. A good number of them share the similarity of having difficulty as their main gameplay feature, and this one is no different. In terms of execution though, this may be one that doesn’t cut it as well as others have.
