That's what killed me about this gen (last gen, whatever) I got my new system and new tv and then got stuck with a bunch of shooters.. I came off of the PS2 and that was RPG heaven, what happened??

If that happened than people would hate RPGs because a lot of developers would make a lot of generic RPGs and oversaturate the genre

Next Gen machines will see a ton of MMORPG's which is good because I know consolers have to be TIRED of FPS and COD clones

I'm hoping they release some new info on this soon.. I want a GOOD game set in this universe so bad. I'm just hoping they really go in on it, I'm sick of generic games in this setting. It's a perfect environment for a videogame

Yeah, I've been waiting for a LotR RPG game my whole life. Just imagine a Elder Scrolls-like LotR game... Oh my god... I think the only reason we haven't seen a game like that yet is because EA was hogging the license for so long, releasing crap fighting games.

RPGs are still pretty popular. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and The Witcher are huge series. Plenty of other good ones like Kingdoms of Amalur. JRPGs are aplenty on 3ds.

I think it has more to do with development time for RPGs. They just take longer that slapping a coat of paint on the latest CoD or NFL/NBA game.

Sadly this is true :( but at the same time, because these games take so much longer to develop, they are that much better (or at least the majority of them are)

I predicted a while ago that rpg would rule next gen,this kind of hard ware should make the best rpg we have ever seen.I wish dark souls 2 would delay and move to next gen only.One other thing i want co op dragons dogma and i want it now,not mmo though,just co op

I definitely want a DD2. Capcom have announced a while back that it plans to make it a trilogy.

One thing I want is for Nintendo to forget consoles, and concentrate on hand helds, and allow both Sony and Microsoft the rights to have Zelda, just imagine how gorgeous that game would be, and how big it could be, that would make Nintendo more money that both the Wii and Wii U combined.
