Ever had a situation where you’re playing an FPS game and somehow you’re stuck wondering: “what if they made a first person action game but with swords and spears instead?” You might also think that that idea wouldn’t be executed the way you thought… Well you’re probably right. If any game company has ever come close into making a skill-based, hand-to-hand (or rather blade to blade) combat FPS game, it’s name would be Torn Banner Studios. This is the game company that made (in my opinion) one of the best sword fighting games ever and it’s name is Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

Recently, a leak in the Steam API allowed everyone to see some of the most accurate player counts available to date. While the information presented does not fully represent hard sales data, it does count every player that has played a game with achievements more than once on Steam.

A fairly terrible list overall. The only excuse is that most of them are free-to-play games.
Today we're taking a look at 10 of the most realistic medieval games out there. No magic, no dragons, no elves, dwarves or any other fantasy creatures.
I think I would prefer the action in Ryse. This looks like it might more be in line with Skyrim, but I have not played it so can judge. For it to be better that Ryse, it would need perfect sound so you know what is doing on behind you.
I did enjoy skyrim though, so this is not a knock on either game just talking combat preference here.
