Devil May Cry 4 PC Is More Than A Port

Capcom today announced that the PC version of Devil May Cry 4 is ready for release this summer. Devil May Cry 4 is already a certifiable hit in the console world, having shipped over two million units worldwide since its European release in February. A demo of the game will be released for PC players before the retail version ships, allowing PC gamers to try the game ahead of time as well as testing their system's prowess with the included benchmark mode. The PC version of Devil May Cry 4 will feature new modes, enhanced graphics options and some additional content. Devil May Cry 4 has been rated 16+ by PEGI.

very good now there is a reason to get a PC version maybe it'll be like DMC3 Special Edition the strange thing is why do we need this cut scenes to run on 120fps I mean a PC has to be very VERY powerful to run something like DMC4 cut scenes on 120fps and why bother in a few years there will be PC's that'll run the game on 120 frames on all options on max, extra enemies is a very welcome touch though

I miss the good old days when there was one version of a game

capcom is going to pull the same thing as they did with Lost Planet :(

theox2g75847d ago

What is your problem? Does bringing a game to another platform with extra features make your version any worse? No

I don't get fanboys(not saying you are one) but it does not make sense to be sad that an exclusive game reaches a wider audience and gets slightly different versions, it's actually good,

I'm a pc gamer and I was happy that Far Cry 2 was coming to the consoles, I was hoping for crysis because I tried to tell my friends how the open interactive gameplay was amazing beyond the graphics but I couldn't convince them, hopefully far cry 2 gives them a rough idea of the reason I love sanbox shooters like stalker so much

KidMakeshift5844d ago (Edited 5844d ago )

You're not getting it

It's not about the game going multi-platform. It's about the multiple versions of the game being made.

How well does a an action game play on the PC? I'm having a hard time imagining playing DMC4 with a keyboard...

theox2g75847d ago

It plays excellent, Onimusha 3, Devil May Cry 3, Dynasty Warrior games all played very well with pretty much any gamepad, the ps2 style pads actually worked the best

MADGameR5847d ago

Can't wait for DMC4, although this PC can't handle it lolz. My cousin's PC will definately handle it at 100FPS maxed out res and detail.

LeonSKennedy4Life5846d ago

The PC versions of Onimusha 3 and DMC3 were TERRIBLE compared to the PS2 versions. Trust me, dude.

This one should be pretty good though, if Capcom themselves are doing the port. Normally, Ubisoft ports to PC for them.

Personally, I just use my Dualshock 3 to play games on here...but that's just me.

xtreampro5847d ago

yeah same here, the PS-controller has all the face buttons and analog sticks all close together for real fast game-play, n plus its all in ur hands, i think someone experience in PC gaming should explain to us how this will work

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC6d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos6d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga6d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer7d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya6d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde6d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP6d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.

Bless the adorably all digital future! When it comes to PC games its not as big of an issue because there should always be another way to access single player games, but still, I hate to see anything get delisted.

Aaroncls784d ago

Well, DMC4 special edition has a lot of issues to run from Steam.
I have to get a modded executable to even be able to run the game on Windows 10.
Not sure if it is because the game runs in DirectX10 or what, but it sucks they have not even tried to fix it.

Sephiroushin83d ago (Edited 83d ago )

DMC4 Special Edition is not delisted, it was just the standard version, it has nothing to do with issues of performance or anything alike. Its just that Capcom probably do not want to sell the standard version, neither the standalone DMC3 version.

Devil May Cry 4 - 15 Years of Nero

Devil May Cry 4 launched 15 years ago today, bringing with it new character Nero. Has it stood the test of time?

Knushwood Butt443d ago

Never liked it and I think I got it day 1.

Cheap Capcom design of half a game that you have to walk through twice.

5 isn't much different in that department. Encounter the same boss three times with three different characters? Endless warehouses or alien-like tunnels that all look the same.

chrisx443d ago

In DMC 5, it's 4 times you encounter the same bosses if you count the Vergil dlc lol

Knushwood Butt442d ago

Yeah, I'm only up to chapter 19 so the total count can only go up!

kevco33443d ago

No troll, I always preferred DMC.

No haters, please.

Knushwood Butt442d ago

I'm actually with you there, but DMC has that terrible writing. Alex Garland isn't it?

FallenAngel1984443d ago

Nero will always stand the rest of time against Donte and Viola
