Final Fantasy V for Android exposes an industry-wide preservation problem

Final Fantasy V was recently ported to Android after an iOS release earlier this year. It looks terrible. Yet these smart phone versions of the popular Square Enix game are the most widespread way to attain the game now. Inferior cash grabs like this should not be the route game companies take to preserve classic games.

This was a pretty good article I myself have noticed this troubling issue. It saddens me how some hd collections came out. I would love for them to be remakes like Persona 4 Golden to me personally it is the best game remake I have seen considering how appending more detail and characters to such a golden game/exp without over doing it this quality is what I expect for remakes/remasters, instead we get outsourced devs, upping resolution, adding more bugs and then call it a day. Heres to hoping ps4/XB1/wii u gen comes with more effort to the remasters and remakes.

It's wild to me that so many games, especially really good games like the Panzer Dragoon titles, have been relegated to emulation and abandoned by their parent companies. I shudder at the horror that will be the eventual PS3 and Xbox 360 digital store shutdown, how much will be lost to obscurity through services like these or even Steam being shutdown in the future.

Great article BTW, really well thought out and it hits alot of good points for this topic.
