Why Do Gamers Sit on the Floor?

When a lot of gamers play games, they tend to sit on the floor more than anything.

When sitting on the floor, it's just plain easier to see things when you're half a foot closer to the screen, even when you own a nice big HD plasma screen TV. Games are so detail-intensive you miss small details when plying farther away then up close.

I used to sit on the floor as a kid, but not any more. All my gaming is chair/ bed bound.

I sit on the floor my back against the sofa, looking at a 62" screen. I don't think it has to do with me drinking though.

Depends on the game with me, but I usually end up in the same place. Sitting on my couch is fine for most things, but when I need to focus more (on a game with the need for finite control for example) I move to the floor, dead center, just in front of the couch.

I have a 47" TV and the couch is about 8-9 feet from it, fine for TV and movies, but that extra half foot or so closer seems to help my focus on games more.

After a few beers and gaming I can't sit on the floor. I prefer my computer chair when gaming on the console or pc. I can lean back a knock back a few cold ones with ease.

I did when I was a kid. Now it's my bed, or a chair, or the sofa. SOMETIMES, I'll game on the floor, but it's really just because.

Yea same here..even though it's pretty much a single player MMO with no skills rofl. You legit have to auto-attack for 50 hours of gameplay with no sense of action at all. Still loved it for some reason...

For me, it was the story. It was very well-crafted. As I played, it didn't really feel as FANTASY as the other games in the series. The political intrigues and all felt completely possible.

It was more like watching a documentary, or a dramatization of historical accounts. And I loved it.

It lacks Uematsu's music, but the score it does have is nice and fits the world well. It isn't saving the world, a staple of FF, but the tale it tells is still complete and compelling.

My only gripe was how easy Gambits could make fighting. So I hardly used them. Well, that, and the ability to have anybody use any weapon.

Aside from that, I thought it was brilliant.

Floor makes back hurt. Im sure there long term damage done if u do it too much. A good recliner is the way to go. Or if u google Love Sac bean bags($100-200), they make the best ones if u prefer that route.

I stand up with a computer chair behind me so I can sit down when things cool off. Never once sat on the floor.

I actually stand up when I play. I always have, it just bothers me to sit down. I feel like I'm more in the game if I stand up, I know its weird haha anyone else do that?

my floor has too many roaches and rats..i prefer to sit on a plastic chair..the sofa is to wet and damp to sit on

my legs are kind of long, so from time to time i alternate between office chair and floor just to stretch my legs.

-I evolved from the floor when gaming turned into 4 hours of power playing. I use one of those old fashioned Wing Chairs, (to feel Regal). :)

In my room I sit on our bed or my computer chair since my 52 inch Bravia is on a TV stand. living room its all couch or recliner for 110(or so) projector I can't deal with the floor in my cases
