VGChartz writes: "With the exception of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue debuting this week, software sales continued to be quiet for this week. Hardware sales were up slightly for most platforms, except for PSP and PS2 which were down slightly. Wii was up significantly more as supply increased significantly from last week. The quiet sales should transition into stronger sales next week as the Mario Kart Wii and GTAIV releases approach. Once again Nintendo's platforms (DS and Wii) managed to outsell all others combined on the increased supply available. PSP, Xbox 360, and PS3 sales were within 15% of each other, though PS3 outsold Xbox 360 by only about half that margin. The thing to watch over the next few weeks will be which platform, Xbox 360 or PS3 has a more long term boost.
Year over year, trends remained similar to previous weeks. PS3 continues to see greater improvement year over year with each week because its sales were so terrible last year.
