No, no it's not. But 2014 looks promising.

ABeastNamedTariq4257d ago (Edited 4257d ago )

The delay of DriveClub certainly dampened my opinion of the launch lineup. More so because they waited until a month before launch. But I think it's more on the devs and not necessarily Sony (someone told me that yesterday). I wanted a racer that isn't NFS. But hey, Killzone looks simply fantastic. Day one for me.

The launch lineup certainly isn't enough to deter me from getting the console..because they're only launch games. Not to mention I'll be playing DCUO, PS2, and Warframe, and Injustice in addition to Killzone.

Anyway, I agree, 2014 is going to be great. Infamous, The Order, and a whole slew of other games (Rime, Shadow of the Beast, probably ND's next game).

Bathyj4257d ago

Dying to see more on Rime.

DEEBO4257d ago

You hit it right on the head.
with all the f2p,third party and indie games
with the remote play app and Killzone,sONY will be fine.

Bathyj4257d ago

Yeah, I'm not getting a PS4 because of any launch game, but because of an 18 year track record of delivering. You always need to be patient the first year or so of a new console.

Funantic14257d ago

First year or so? No way...X1 day one.

wastedcells4257d ago (Edited 4257d ago )

I'm still super pumped. After killzone on vita I'm really looking forward to what's next with the franchise. I think this game will be its break though. Black flag and BF4 are awesome as well. Plus nothing better then knowing more games are just around the corner. Also lots to play on PSN. I think it will be the best " first six months" in history as far as console launches go.

Bathyj4257d ago

Not at all. Its pretty thin. I think its actually worse than PS3 which everyone said had no games but I was playing Resistance and Motorstorm.

Thank god for Killzone.

ape0074257d ago

Resistance : fall of man = amazing game

2paclives4257d ago

Actually motor storm was not available at launch, but you could import the stripped down japan version. Motor storm wasn't available until March. The ps3 launch was not very good. Ps4 you get Kz sf, knack some good third party games and some really cool psn games.

MysticStrummer4257d ago

Good enough for what? To not make me consider another console? Yes.

Having said that, Sony should have pushed to have more exclusives at launch, especially since PS4 is supposedly so easy to code for.

Bathyj4257d ago

That should be at least talking more about whats coming next year. A Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Santa Monica announcement (or God forbid Last Guardian) a couple weeks before launch would have anticipation at fever pitch.

Still, the thought of getting an Xbox over a PS4 has never crossed my mind but I feel Sony are letting the slow burn go on a bit to long. They need to set this thing on fire.

ABeastNamedTariq4257d ago

I agree that they need to get the ball rolling again. I think they're going to do that at the VGAs, which is when Naughty Dog typically announces their games as of late.

Hopefully we see some gameplay of The Order (and Rime!).

Ketzicorn4257d ago

I think too many people are putting too much emphasis on launch games. I think X1 and Sony's launch lineup looks about the same neither looking super impressive but neither being awful either. Then I started thinking back and I could think of a couple decent launch exclusives but was having a hard time thinking of consoles with gobs of great exclusives at launch. This race is a long one so why does the media keep acting like it's won and lost at launch is beyond me.

Fluke_Skywalker4257d ago

For me, no. I cancelled my pre order purely based on this fact. I absolutely will get one but not until next spring or later, once there are a good few more games.
I know there is plenty of games at launch but the only one I'm interested in is Killzone, and as much as I love KZ it ain't a system seller.

MysticStrummer4257d ago

"as much as I love KZ it ain't a system seller."

All those people buying KZ:SF bundles might disagree, and the game also has many pre-orders on it's own.

PS4 and PC RPG Reborn KickStarter cancelled, relaunching in November

Reborn was supposed to be the first futuristic cyber punk action RPG that was supposed to mix Japanese lore with a Western theme. It needed about $200k to be funded and now it appears that the project creator has suddenly cancelled the funding.

Oh boy relaunching in November might not be an good idea. New consoles and games are right around the corner and not to mention black friday. I don't see this kickstarter doing much better than it did before.

Godmars2904260d ago

I don't think it was halfway through its time. by the article they weren't satisfied with the level of rewards they'd established.

All seems a bit flighty and unfocused to me.

3-4-54260d ago

This concept and idea looks awesome, I hope it makes it. We need more cyberpunk

ABeastNamedTariq4260d ago

Slightly disappointed, but hey, it's coming back in November. The concept art is mind-blowing.

WHY WAS THIS NOT FUNDED!? FUND YOU FOOLS! FUND!

ATi_Elite4260d ago

Dude everyone has been throwing so much money at StarCitizen that games like this will be OVERLOOKED!

If it's coming out for the PS4 why doesn't Sony just fund it? Hmmm?

ABeastNamedTariq4260d ago

I don't know, why don't you ask Sony?

Cynicism aside, SC's feat is impressive, I won't deny that. But I don't own a gaming PC, and I will be getting a PS4. So I would/would've like/liked to have a game like this on PS4.

isarai4260d ago

well there's two ways of doing that, one is to let them be publisher which means giving them the rights to your game and complete control over it's development, they probably don't want that. the other is the "PubFund" which is meant for smaller indie titles whereas this game seems to be aiming a lot higher than your average indie game. not only that but they are a fresh studio with no track record to back them up, it's going to be hard convincing sony to fund their project like that

GTgamer4260d ago

At least its coming Back but why cancel a Kick starter that's odd.

isarai4260d ago

surprised but reading the article it makes sense, they want to make the reward system for backers clearer and more streamlined, increase awareness and marketing, and prepare more content to entice or give incentive to fund the game. restarting would be the ideal way to do that so they don't waste time in their funding period doing that

DigitalRaptor4260d ago (Edited 4260d ago )

Goddamnit. Well at least it's coming back. Sounds like they really want to make it the best for those supporting it, so it makes sense.
