Toshihiro Nagoshi Would Like to “Reach the Whole World” With PlayStation Exclusive Yakuza Ishin

Yakuza Ishin has probably a better chance to be localized in English than Yakuza 5. It features new characters and its story is completely stand alone, and it'll be released when Sony will need as many titles as possible to beef up the library of the PS4.

Is there hope? Legendary producer Toshihiro Nagoshi seems to think so.

They should localize it. Niche series aren't failures. Look at the Tales of series. The next rumored one Tales of Zestria, has already been registered in the US. Before that, we waited 2 years for Xillia. Look where it is now.

"Toshihiro Nagoshi Would Like to “Reach the Whole World” With PlayStation Exclusive Yakuza Ishin"

Here's a thought... if you want to reach the "hole" world (or maximum people), don't make it exclusive! Release it for other consoles and PC.

I honestly don't understand these 3rd party developers. They make their games exclusive to one console, after they start whining that they don't make enough money, have to fire people and close or sell the company... MORONS.
This goes for every 3rd party developer.

It wouldn't sell on other consoles. They tried an HD Yakuza collection on the Wii U which failed miserably and Japanese games don't do well (if they even get) to the PC.
3rd party exclusives aren't a bad thing. At all.

please try! it would mean a lot to a lot of us

Yakuza 3/4 were one of the best games i have played! highly underrated and under hyped...
Its sad that people buy generic rambo shooters like COD and BF over this...

Please release Yakuza Ishin with eng subs :D

Well localize it then, and maybe give us Yakuza 5 first.

I would love it, if both Ishin and Y5 gets localized. I doubt Sega has no cash because they just purchased Index. Its more like they have no will to do it.

Going to Netease though? I dont know man.

The reality is that Nagoshi-san was a Sega lifer and can be sold whatever dream by a publisher/investor, because he does not have the sense of what is real and what to believe. After being 30 years outside the talent and publisher market in one company, he clearly is out of touch of the market realities. This will not end well, and if it does, it will be a miracle.

If he pulls it off and gets a good game done from scratch without the infra nor talent and the Netease Execs won't push him to deliver sooner a worse title to recoup their investment, then hats off to him. The evidence shows though, that this is a failed transition. Hopefully I'm proven wrong!

I didn't know he left the RGG studios. Makes sense why the Ishin remake was crap and like a dragon diverted away from traditional combat.

sounds like they want to do it right when it comes to development, hopefully they don't have much crunch time. Hopefully whatever they're working on is in a genre I like so I can support them.
