What would the world be like without Final Fantasy? erm exactly wat it has been since FFX came out, infact the question should be What would the world be like with Final Fantasy?

Final Fantasy hasnt been Final Fantasy since 2001, 12 years ago.

Stop lying, Famitsu gave FF12 a perfect score of 10/10.
Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn is an awesome MMORPG played by over million players now.
Also dont forget about great spin-offs like Crysis Core.

Just because it it got a perfect score doesn't mean that its the same series.

Hell, coming from Famitsu can't even say that the game was worth a 10/10. Certainly wasn't to me.

I did like X,XI,XII, and XIV:ARR looks pretty good. But FFX was a step in the wrong direction.

Idk what the hell is wrong with them. FFX was a good Final Fantasy. People and their stupid criticizing. People always complain that a game series isn't the same, but then if the Dev makes them similar, it's to the same. Shut up. Devs aren't going to keep trying the same thing. Quit being closed minded. FFX, FFXI, FFXII and FFXIV:ARR are all awesome FFs.

That's how I feel. People that grew up with each new FF knew there was nothing else like it, and the series hasn't had that feeling since FF 10. Has nothing to do with scores but the passion innovation and creativity that each new FF used to bring. They have lost that, but I hope 15 brings that back.

First Final Fnatasy was released just 1 month before my birth, its an iconic franchise for me, I cant imagine for it to stop existing :(

I wouldn't miss them as I outgrew the games. There just not for me anymore. Now bring on the next Fallout or Elder Scrolls.

Not much different than it looks now. Square Enix has yet to produce a SINGLE good Final Fantasy game (sans remakes); the quality of the Dragon Quest games has also declined sharply thanks to their insistence to make it an MMO... and Square-Enix has betrayed precious little interest in localizing either franchise overseas.

dunno but at the pace they are going and all the business decisions or lack their off that square is making we will find out this next generation because they are tanking pretty hard

Thing is...there are no decent JRPGs anymore, like there were at PS1/PS2 times. Only all those boring fallout/skyrim type games.

What about the Persona series? The Shin Megami series? There are tons and tons of good RPG's out there; sure it's decreased over time, but that doesn't mean it's buried for good, it's going to take time for Japanese developers to get the right formula again to make a good Chrono Trigger type adventure, and that for sure is going to happen.
