With the release of GTA V we’ve seen the rise of under age gaming pop its ugly head above water again. This happens once or twice a year with a big 18 rated game release and some of us have a right good natter about it.
Cheers. To be honest I was little worried it might get shot down early on, I know a lot of younger gamers use this site so I thought it was a risk.
I thought this was going to be another typical GTA V bashing article.. glad to see I was wrong. I completely agree that parents should "parent". I don't however blame R* one bit for advertising their game. They want to make money. Advertising works. They shouldn't be held responsible for parents that don't care. Video games / Rap music etc. always seems to be the scapegoat. It's getting old.
Hey Kryptonite42O, Glad to not disappoint. Mostly it is the parents fault but you have to admit, the game is everywhere. Considering its an 18 I would specially have put adverts beyond the watershed time, yet I'm sure I've seen them running during the day. (Might be me imagining things.) Can't help but notice the billboard ads everywhere. Lets face it, advertise candy in a kids face and they're going to want it even more. GTA didn't need to advertise. People of the right age group knew it was coming and when. True, they are old scapegoats for the real problem, adult content being consumed by younger generations.
