Train Simulator 2014 releasing this week for PC

PC game Train Simulator 2014 from developer/publisher RailSimulator.com, will be ready for download and in North American retail stores later this week.

To each, his own. But why would anybody want to play a train sim?

ATi_Elite3890d ago

Because they really really like TRAINS!

I know a guy who has a program that lets him view ALL the trains in his area in REAL-Time.

The train number, the speed, the tracks they're on, type of train, and it's location.

I can call him and ask him how long before a train goes by at "location whatever" and he would tell me and be CORRECT! He would even tell me if it was Coal or Cargo.

I just updated his PC and YES he is excited about Train Simulator 2014!

Money for Me Fun for Him!

We call them "Foamers" hahaha. See them everywhere with cameras and stuff filming trains go past

PC caters to many niche genre fans. I love pnc adventures and it's considered niche at this point in time.

You'd be surprised, I had this one friend who really really REALLY loved trains and train photography, not a bad hobby to have but certainly a bizarre one

im sure theres an audience for train simulator

CGI-Quality3889d ago

That's like asking why would anyone want to play ANY type of game. Should be self-explanatory, because they LIKE that type of game.

OT: Good news, and free for owners of TS'13 on Steam!

Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty, shit - even PS4 and Xbox One...move aside -- the high octane, adrenaline pumping, testosterone fueling experience that is Train Simulator 2014 has almost arrived. All aboard kids, it's gonna be a WILD ride!

KonsoruMasuta3890d ago

Can't wait for their next game!

Traffic Jam Simulator.

All the fun of sitting in traffic without actually leading your house!!

SactoGamer3890d ago

I think that came out earlier this year. They called it SimCity.

_QQ_3890d ago

Hell yeah this is why PC is better than consoles.

How much will all the DLC cost this time? 1000$? 2000$?

Interesting Simulator Games

Love them or hate them, the ubiquitous “Simulator” games continue to go from strength to strength causing a considerable amount of bemusement that baffles most critics. Traditionally these games feel like harmless fun but some games now give the impression that they can train you to do the real thing.

Simulators of the Surgeon, Goat, Rock or even Grass variety offer gimmicky fun for a few hours, but they are ultimately novelty games with little replay value once the joke has outstayed its welcome, but you could argue that they attempt to inject a little fun into the genre and don’t take themselves too seriously.

Being able to let your imagination run wild and be whoever you wanted to be in another universe has always ensured a healthy amount of escapism in gaming, so it’s something of a surprise to see gamers escaping to play games where they perform everyday jobs complete with mundane tasks.

6 Terrible Simulator Games That Will Make You Want to Actually Go Outside

8CN: In case you’ve been living under a rock and haven't noticed, simulators have become all the rage lately. For example, with a grass simulator and rock simulator recently announced, you can now virtually simulate hiding under that rock of yours. But that's only the beginning. The depths of simulator madness go far, far deeper.

Go outside? You mean pick up VR. We are building a society of overweight fat people... Sad. Wall-E here we come.

If only the world leaders could read your post and see the error of their ways. It helped change my life. It really did. I was locked into my special fat person sofa with a funnel of KFC gravy about to pour into my mouth when I realised... 'shit some guy on a gaming comments section thinks people should eat less' and it all became clear.

Thank you ApolloAdams - you've not only saved my life, you've quite possibly saved the world.
