Game Informer: "Some people play every first-person shooter without exception. Others invest hours and hours into every turn-based RPG from Japan. I find myself gravitating toward games where you can jump from great heights."
Sammy: "It’s sad that PlayStation has moved on from some of these iconic brands, but it would be worse watching them rot. At least with this licensing strategy, there’s a legitimate opportunity for more great franchises to get a second chance. And if they sell really well, there’s always the chance Sony may decide to bring them back."
Love this idea. Let other companies release reboots of these classics to a wider audience. Everyone wins.
Remaster Puppeteer. It looked great on PS3 but it would be nice to have on PS5 with fast loading and some sort of 4k
Assassin's Creed has been hard done by in the past several years despite its success, and as messy as it could be, it might be time for a reboot.
They already did that in 2017 with origins. I don’t think a reboot is on the cards when Ubisoft is about to go down under lol
I hope the splinter cell remake sees the light of day before the company closes
"it might be time for a reboot." No it might be time to put this shit to rest for a few yrs. A good 4-5 then come back.
Total franchise reboot. This ac game is basically the hail Mary to keep Ubisoft alive if this fails the share price will be so low they will be forced to sell and likely absorbed into another org as the Ubisoft name carries almost no weight.
Don't get me wrong they will end up selling after ac regardless but it will be the difference of getting the deal they want vs the deal they don't
No place for Puppeteer, Gravity Rush
Man I'd love to see GR3. Unfortunately Somy didn't do well to advertise these games and AAA gaming is what most gamers preferred.
This gen has been different, indies and smaller games are what people absolutely love now so I wonder how these games would do if they were to release now. These games would also need a PC release.
I mean can you really say it closed when 90% of the staff is at Asobi Games which was originally a team in Japan Studio?
Bring Puppeteer to PS5 please! Love that game. Gravity Rush collection would be ice as well.
Understandable. Adult gamers, while still having interest in AA gaming, have so little time that they choose to play AAA instead. Indie too, being fun and cheap, who could resist? they are too, time-consuming.
Where's Grand Theft Auto and Batman Arkham City?
I think the game which is the most immersive in terms of free falling is Mirror's Edge. I can barely keep my eyes open when I make a mistake and plummet to my death.
This list is forgetting these two games:
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, where you could jump from "Dive Rock," or even kill the Adoring Fan and throw him off of it or headshot him with an arrow and watch him rag-doll to the ground or sometimes go flying out of sight.
Battlefield 3, with it's skydiving from an aircraft at the very highest point of the map deploying your parachute at the last moment. Even the dirtbike catapult glitch. That had some good hang time.
I don't know if it's just me. But I think you really gotta be scrapping the bottom of the barrel if you're making a list of games that fufill free-falling fantasies.
Gravity Rush has a lot of free falling.
