Rising Star plans to release Super Swing Golf for the Wii in Europe on 27th June.
Purists will shirk the Korean golfing madness, but if you're not obsessive about realistic play, this will be more than enough for you. In fact, there's very little to fault Super Swing Golf on. The Tour Mode will keep you going for quite some time, while the dual control methods mean that joining in on the multiplayer will be a cinch for anyone.
Dressing up the characters and the picturesque courses will appeal to casual gamers, the hardcore design will attract more dedicated players. It's obvious that a lot of attention has been paid to the design of this game, and that's what makes playing it such a joy. This is definitely a shining example of how to make good, high quality sports game fun.
It may be harsh to call Super Swing Golf terrible, but it does have a lot of flaws. The poor controls, badly designed courses and an unneeded level of wackyness provide nothing more but a few hours of distraction. Still if you're a fan of PangYa or looking for an alternative sports game, then this may be right up your ally. Just don't blame Thunderbolt if you think it's below par.
David Roberts writes:
"While the slightly girly-cute characters may not appeal to gamers looking for something similar to a simulation (such as Tiger Woods PGA Tour), it is nonetheless a fun and engaging offering."
