Just a Thought: The Problem Isn’t Ubisoft’s Franchises, But How They Handle Them
J. Hugo of Kaboomshark writes "In one of the slightly bigger news recently, Ubisoft revealed in an interview that they would not start any future IPs unless they knew that they could form a franchise out of them. Of course, we have a much talked about the Ubisoft game called Watch Dogs and the fact that Ubisoft stated that it’s ‘franchises every time, all the time’ signifies that we’ll be seeing more additions to the Watch Dogs series beyond this year’s release. Tom Clancy’s The Division is also on the horizon, slated for a release next year, and we’ll more than likely see more of that one too. I don’t really blame Ubisoft for going the route of franchises though."
