The games industry has always been the focus of much controversy. From assertions that it causes obesity and health issues to claims it’s creating a generation of violent psychopaths, games have been used as the scapegoat for a great many things over the years. Such is the way of things in the entertainment industry. In the past, music and movies have born their share of the brunt of criticism for society’s ills. There have been many high-profile cases of music being blamed for suicides or murders, for anorexia or depression; likewise with movies. Games aren’t special or unique in this case, they’re just the latest thing to be tarred with that particular brush.
