Is Sony’s gaming future really that bright?
Following on from discussions about Sony’s 2008/9 lineup – Daniel from GameOnYou UK asks – is it even that exciting? Have Sony already sealed their own fate, or is their position recoverable?
From the article: "One of the problems I guess is that Sony appears to be consistently shooting themselves in their collective foot. First they create a monstrous sized unit which can only be described as a scrapped design for a George Foreman Grill; then they reveal a silver boomerang as their new controller design; then they delay the release of the console till about a year after the release of the 360…
Despite the delays I have to admit that PS3 has a lot going for it at the moment (even if it did take its time). Firstly there’s MGS4, although I must say I keep going on and off it. Sometimes there will be some footage which I will be pretty amazed by and some will be pretty meh. It isn’t too much to think about for me personally as I don’t have a PS3 and I will most likely not be getting one (360 is enough next-gen for me – I still play a load of old-gen things anyway. Graphics can be bloody sweet, but they don’t necessarily need to be awesome by today’s standards to please me)."
