Microsoft Game Studios VP Phil Spencer stated that CrackDown is one of his favorite games and isn’t dead. There’s a lot of room for development for a new CrackDown.
The Crackdown games are a blast, I'd be interested in seeing what they can come up with sandbox wise with the extra room on a blu-ray.
Yeah, I wonder how the game will run with the "cloud" MS been touting. I hope Crackdown 3 comes very soon.
i have not played 2 yet but 1 was very fun!
Its a good game but not as good as the first. I loved them both.
Yep, looking foward to it. Could be shown at Gamescom 2013.
That's definitely possible with all the recent hints..
Most likely--Ruffian could be doing it again as they are UK Dev team so European game show would be ideal place to do it. Same goes for a new Fable too and numerous other titles (for PS4 too--both platforms have plenty of devs to show off still). I would love a new Crackdown but hopefully with a more original setting. The city was cool and all but it made it too similar between the 2 games. A new city would be ideal IMO although if more time passed and the city had major changes due to it (likely caused by all the riots/mutants/whatever else is new) we could see a major rehaul while keeping a few key landmarks intact. Personally an even bigger world wouldn't hurt although I wouldn't really want it to be "too big" either. It needs to stay coop friendly after all but fix a few issues with enemy density inconsistency and few other limitations we had this gen.
The Cloud is strong with this one...
I would love to see a next gen Crackdown. Hopefully they will do it right and put as much effort into as iNfamous and maybe give them a run for their money.
Crackdown 2 was sort of a disappointment. Felt a little rushed and not quite polished. Hopefully a next-gen Crackdown is in the hands of the right developer because I'm ready to wreak havoc again! Make it happen, Microsoft!
If done right, i would be seriously interested in this.
This isn't compelling news as this was all but confirmed by major nelson in his podcast before e3 where he said they might "show a game that involves "orbs" and i'll leave it at that."... Also, during video game week on jimmy fallon the guy showing off the xb-1 was wearing a crackdown t shirt (couldn't tell what the small print said)... I enjoyed the 1st one and never got around to playing the 2nd since it got mediocre reviews but maybe if i find it for 10 bucks or less i'll give it a try.
It was an ok game but very lazy used the same city only thing that really changed was the night time zombie thing they had going on, there was a lack of new stuff, still fun though.
Let's hope so, a GTA sized world with crazy, over the top action. The game will write itself, lets hope that MS and whoever is handling development gives this the much needed respect it is due.
As long as Ruffian doesn't develop again...
Amazing the first game would love to take it for another spin make it happen ms.
