Avalanche Studio working on Just Cause 2

Avalanche Studio CEO Christofer Sundberg has made clear in an interview with Swedisch Magazine Kong that they are working on a second game of Just Cause. Just Cause has only been released one month ago.

You will still play as Undercover-Agent Rico Rodriquez but you won't be playing in San Espirito anymore. The new location or any other information about the game haven't been given yet. Just Cause will be released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

But they better make the gameplay as good as the graphics this time.

The_Firestarter6394d ago (Edited 6394d ago )

...I just think it's too soon to call out a sequel. It just concerns me when a company pulls a sequel out of their rear end soon after the original. Makes me feel like there's no thought put into it, like as if the game is without any value. Kind of reminds me of NFL games. Does EA really need to make a new football game EVERY YEAR!? I'm sorry that I got off the subject, but THERE IS relevance. What new elements can they make to the game one year later? Madden '06 and '07 have the same level of graphics, but whatever. My point is that, I hope this game will be in development for over a year or so. To ensure it's worth all of your money. :)

I couldn't agree with you more Firestarter, the only reason for yearly versions of these sports games is to make more money on a supposedly "new" product. The only things that need to be updated yearly are rosters, in my opinion. Otherwise, give us a "new" game every other year.

Well Bungie started Halo 3 right after Halo 2 was finished, Rockstar started GTA:SA after GTA:VC so they are thinking ahead and they want to make a better game.

I thought that the gameplay was really good on Just Cause, i thought that the Cutscenes were crap but it's a game not a movie. I thought that the style was really fun, being able to pull off absoloutly impossible stunts without barely lifting a finger.

Ok whats the relevance posting an article that's in another language?

devv056394d ago

There's a nice english translation button on the upper right, enjoy ;)

PS360PCROCKS6394d ago (Edited 6394d ago )

Oh haha wow I'm a moron, but whoever is doing that english translation is horrific tho...oh and I have a few questions if anybody who knows could possibly clear this up for me, I went out and randomly bought a new 50" Hi def TV today and well I have a HDTV now that I play my 360 on and I use the cables that came with the Premium package. But now my new TV has slots for VGA and all that, should I keep to component cables or will I get a better picture from VGA?

I dunno man, 4 kinda sucked compared to 3 personally, i do wish they would take on a Mercenaries sequel though

Wretchedstain830d ago

Not sure if the IP still exists anywhere, or who owns it now, but yes, that would be an awesome idea. Pandemic studios did a few good games before they got closed by EA in 2009. The Saboteur is still a go to game of mine. Mercenaries 3: No Limits was one of the cancelled games we all missed out on.

slayernz830d ago

yeah my thoughts as well, loved #3 but #4 was pretty meh just nowhere near as much fun, felt like a grind

Minute Man 721829d ago (Edited 829d ago )

I'm loving #4 right now

LordoftheCritics831d ago

I think the game needs a reboot.

Same save the island situation since the first. Each iteration feels mostly a tech upgrade.

porkChop831d ago

They're busy working on Contraband, a new IP. I like Just Cause but they don't need to pump them out one after another. Mad Max showed they're far more than a one trick pony, so just let them do what they want to do.

isarai830d ago

They have two studios, so i hope the other is working on something cool. Hell i'd be psyched for a mad max sequel honestly.

Wherever it is, I just hope it isn't cross gen
