PS4 Release Date Leaked by Supplier

Anyone following the news out of E3 is likely swooning with information overload at this point, what with both console manufacturers showcasing launch titles and definitive price points for their new technical titans. One thing both firms remained mum on however were specific dates on which gamers could line up to take their console of choice home.

That may change now thanks to release date details from a games wholesaler in California.

I think if they're even just a week late, they'll be okay. In fact, Black Friday would be the perfect release date. People are SO in a spending mood on that day.

Judging how Sony has been one step ahead of MS, I think they will try a end of October/ early november release, announcing it at TGS on mid september.

I think the leaked date is a pretty good date. So long as it is in november it's all good. October seems to early. I want GG to polish KZ:SF as much as they can and cerny to do the same thing with knack

A release date of a month earlier or later than X-box one doesn't really matter.

How much of a head-start can you get in a month? Considering that these machine's are going to compete for years to come.

Especially the bad press surrounding X1, I don't think Sony is gonna try to rush the release date, before Microsoft's release date.

Sony will probably calculate production yields of PS4 consoles and logistics and set a release date to that (without looking at the competition), and not try to push and put pressure on production to release a couple weeks earlier.

You definitely have valid points here, but just because we're not at the forefront of the industry (like IGN and Gamespot) doesn't make our content any less veracious. We are simply trying to protect the anonymity of our source per their request. We're still negotiating with them, but the tip is absolutely legitimate.

But again, from your perspective I can certainly see where your skepticism comes from. As the owner of the site I felt the news was worth sharing nonetheless.

Best Buy sent me an email saying the release date has changed to November 30th.

My Best Buy preorder date was changed from the placeholder to 11/30/2013. Maybe they will update it again later, but for now, that's what I have listed.

I'm guessing it's a planned leak from Sony. They will actually launch in October ahead of the early November release date for the Xbox.

Sony has already started adverts in the UK and US. I doubt they would run ads this far in advance. Expect the PS4 in October. They'll announce this at TGS which is in late September.

I don't see it being quite this late. I mean they seem to have a lot of watch dogs stuff going around on PS4 and with that coming out on 22nd i could easily see PS4 coming out around the 15th so it can be out for next gen consoles the same time as current gen consoles.
