Sailing Across the Entire ATLAS Map Would Take 30 Hours with Favorable Winds, According to Devs

The developers of ATLAS, the new MMORPG due tomorrow on Steam Early Access, said that sailing across the entire 45 thousand square kilometers map would take 30 real hours.

I doubt they can fill in alot of interesting contents into a map this big. Prepare to see lot of empty ocean water.

Atlas is a pirate MMO where players run the seas

There’s a pirate MMO on the horizon, and its sea-farers look ambitious. Atlas is being made by Ark: Survival Evolved devs Studio Wildcard, and sets sail on early access this week. It plops 40,000 players into the same fantasy world, where they compete to govern territory and can fire at any ship on the sea.

RPS spoke to project director/lead programmer Jeremy Stieglitz and creative director Jesse Rapczak over Skype.
