It sounds like we may actually see a Neverhood and Earthworm Jim sequel if we all delve into our pockets.
For the uninitiated, The Neverhood is a claymation FMV point and click adventure game that was released on the PC in 1996. Yes, the same year as Mario 64, Resident Evil, Quake, Crash Bandicoot, and Civilization 2. It's safe to assume that it never stood a chance. It was clear that a shift in the market was taking place
After 20 years of dormancy, iconic video game super hero Earthworm Jim is making his return to the popular zeitgeist in a major way. What at first appeared to be a slow roll out of multiple projects over the next 15 months has turned into an unexpected frenzy as the first new venture has broken crowdfunding records, and elevated already high expectations.
Maybe I'm reading too much into this quote, "can serve as the foundation for future CGI movies, toys and animated series so that we can reestablish Earthworm Jim as a pillar of the pantheon of family-friendly characters in entertainment, across multiple industry platforms." but if I'm readying it correctly the future looks bright for Earthworm Jim and hopefully a new game will come out on the next generation of consoles too.
"I just got a chance to do an interview with Doug TenNapel. So we talked about everything from his new graphic novel "Bigfoot Bill", TenNapel's sucess on indiegogo, TenNapel's plans for a "Bigfoot Bill" video game, gaming to old memories and much more" - Robin TGG.
We need an Earthworm Jim sequel
What to take note of: Sequels.
