Tales of Symphonia Chronicles Details Revealed

Namco Bandai Games made a worldwide announcement this weekend during the Tales of Festival in Japan, that Tales of Symphonia Chronicles (Working Title) will be released for PlayStation 3. Fans will be able to experience the most celebrated Tales of videogame to date, Tales of Symphonia, again for the first time with crisp and colourful high-definition (HD) graphics and additional content along with its 2008 sequel Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

With Symphonia Chronicles, i'm hoping Namdai will release Tales of Destiny Chronicles consist of Destiny R & Destiny 2 from PS2.

Oh yeah I totally forgotten about that and we never did get to see ToD2 localized.

I just hope they follow this up with the confirmation of ToX2 localization. My money and body is already ready for ToX1 ^^

Sadly, Namdai changed Tales of Eternia to Destiny 2 because 'Eternia' name is already copyright by He-Man creator, Mattel. When Namdai made the real Destiny 2, they forced not to localize the game to avoid the confusion. But with title like 'Tales of Destiny Chronicles', hopefully they can localize the real Tales of Destiny 2 ^^

For ToX2, i heard rumour that the pre-order for ToX1 already guaranteed Namdai to localize ToX2. Maybe it will release next year after Symphonia HD ^^

I have Xillia preordered myself(CE FTW!), that game is going to be epic. I also hope that the sales are enough to warrant ToX2 to come over as well.

This is good news for people like me who never played either and while Tales of Symphonia had good ratings, and from people I know said it was really good, Dawn of the New World got pretty bad ratings from the sites I usually check, anyone can say if its that bad or was it another case of harsh criticism.

I actually had a great time playing DotNW. Lot's of humor and juggling enemies in battles was very satisfying.

well to me, Symphonia was my first tales games, and one of my favs. I replayed it at least 5 times! But I could not bring myself to play Dawn of the New World for more than a couple of hours. To me, it was bad. I will give it an other try when the HD version comes around, but my main enthusiasm comes from the vanilla Symphonia HD remaster :)

The story and vastly limited use of ToS characters (who capped at lvl 50 by the way) was a let down. I also like the original artstyle more. However the combat and monster capture/training system were redeeming aspects.
(EDIT: the world map sucked as well)

Fortunately it seems like there will be extra features which may include a better multi-player camera and the Japan-only hi-ougis(mystic arts) for ToS and maybe a few more updates for the Tos cast in DotNW.

It still feels weird that this isnt on Wii U, though.....

hmm, seems like hit and miss with many features but I love the Tales series style games so I'm sure I'll at least get something out of it, still its exciting to be getting this series and it is a bit strange that two Nintendo tales games are not coming to a Nintendo system in HD.
