Personally thinking that the whole competitive nature of gaming has been left out. How many zombie games allow you to go head to head with another person on equal footing leaving it purely down to who is the better player? Not many. L4D certainly doesn't. That's why people prefer to play those games - because then you can take on your friends and put your ability directly against theirs.
