Lightning Returns Interview With Kitase & Toriyama

FFDream had the privilege to sit down and chat with the creators of Final Fantasy XIII/Lightning saga‚ specifically the director Yoshinori Kitase and producer/screenwriter Motomu Toriyama. Their art director Isamu Kamikokuryou was also present‚ and he had quite a bit of input on Lightning. The three discussed the challenges of making the games‚ music‚ and direction they wanted to traverse.

I think its just the site itself thinking it will be for the PS3/4. Personally, would like it to be renamed 15 and made for next gen.

Lightning returns, in my hope, should be the last of the FF13 brand-name and Versus should be SE's way of moving on.

Anybody else finds it odd that we've seen very little of Lightning returns, almost no videos for it...have they revealed a release date yet?

My biggest fear is that the FF reveal at E3 is gonna be this and the revamped 14.....

I know people will be happy to be done with XIII, but I'd still like to eventually see more games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythos. Type-0 is supposed to be phenomenal, and of course Versus looks amazing too, and I think the mythos has legs. Maybe we'll see some other action rpgs or even tactical rpgs (a la FF Tactics set in Ivalice).

Just because people didn't like XIII so much doesn't mean quality games can't be made within the FNC mythos, and I think type-0 and Versus will probably prove that.
