1UP writes: "I like a good noir detective story. More than that, I like a healthy dose of postapocalyptic decay. Take both of those things and fit them together in a grungy, weird, stylish adventure game starring a cast of cockroaches and other assorted bugs wearing badges and trench coats, and, man, you’ve got my attention.
The actual game, however, leaves me wondering if this weren’t a much better idea for an awesome Saturday-morning cartoon. All of Insecticide’s weird story elements come together in a just-about-perfect way. It’s a little Sam Spade meets Kafka, and that’s pretty hard not to like. The writing — and there’s a lot of it — is tight and funny".
