VVV: "Italian developer Milestone are commonly associated with their licensed, specialist simulation racing titles such as WRC and MotoGP. Imagine our surprise, then, when they announced WRC Powerslide for PSN and XBLA, an unapologetically arcade take on WRC that adds an overhead camera, accessible arcade-style handling and a plethora of pantomime power-ups.
We caught up with Lead Designer and self-confessed rally fanatic Irvin Zonca to find out what drove Milestone down this drastic detour for a series that primarily prides itself on authenticity."
GG3 writes: "Black Friday promotions online are as brutal as in real life, so it’s hard to pick out where exactly the lowest prices are. Select Steam keys on Games Republic are currently lower than anywhere else, certainly as the store handles region-free pricing that stays fair to Europeans. So, here are the best ones to pick up."
Avoiderdragon: Motorsports have always been a source of inspiration for video games, mostly from actual motorsports or Fast and Furious style racers. One of the former is the World Rally Championship, which is known for high speed off-road racing on dirt and gravel with Scandinavian flicks and powerslides, and quite a few games have tried to capture that with mixed results. The better ones have given us stuff like the DiRT series, and it’s not bound to stop just yet. For those who are less serious about racing games but do like some speed, here is WRC Powerslide.
WRC Powerslide isn’t a bad game by any means but it’s perfectly average in every way. While offering up a few solid gameplay elements it doesn’t quite cross the finish line in first place.
