‘Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon’ Review | Analog Addiction

Analog Addiction writes: "Nintendo claimed 2013 to be the “year of Luigi” in their Nintendo Direct broadcast from Feb. 14, and I say it’s about time.

Luigi, to me, has moved onto my unofficial list of the most overlooked characters in gaming history.

There has always been something enjoyable about Luigi to me, and I recently discovered it might be because I can relate to him. We both accomplish tasks we’re given with goofy mannerisms and clumsy behaviors, we’re the comic relief in our circle of friends, we are sometimes overshadowed by a more well-known person despite our hard-working efforts, but it does not dampen our spirits nor hold our attitudes down and despite what our feelings may be over the situations we are put in, we carry on with the mission at hand."

5 Things We Want In Luigi's Mansion 3

"As I write this, I reminisce about every October where I plugged in my old Gamecube, popped open my Luigi’s Mansion case, and put in the game while starting a new playthrough. But this article isn’t about the original game, it’s about the newly announced game, Luigi’s Mansion 3."

Regarding Coop play, the reason why the second Luigi is this green mass is likely due to the fact that it's not native co-op on the system. That is, you are using two separate 3DS's to communicate. Having an untextured set of polygons reduces streaming load and allows the game to run smoother, I'd assume, while still keeping the perspective of the secondary player intact.

If they did bring it to Switch I'd imagine the second player would be another character since it'd likely be native co-op.

Also, a 15 hour playthrough on the original Luigi's Mansion? That game took me like 6 hours... I hope he means Dark Moon.

I’d laugh and genuinely find this game even more appealing if Waluigi actually did appear in it as an antagonist jealous of Luigi’s fortune.

Unless I'm mistaken, Waluigi was introduced in Mario Kart Double Dash, and he's gone on to be a cult favourite character of Nintendo.

He deserves either his own game or a major roll in a game such as Luigi's Mansion 3!

If Nintendo makes a new Wario game and doesn't include Waluigi it will be criminal.

Theknightofnights2199d ago

I believe Waluigi was actually introduced in Mario Tennis.

Toadette debuted in Mario Kart: Double Dash
Waluigi debuted in Mario Tennis 64

If Nintendo can make Waluigi an antagonist in Mario DDR, they can do it in this game. Idk why he’s not even in any Wario game

Most of these, if not all five, feel like a given.. at least in my opinion. Seriously though, I have no expectations, I just wanted it to exist, so I'm absolutely fine.

This was a fun read by a true Luigi's Mansion fan. I agree 100%. :)

I hope they re-release 1&2 for the Switch
