Amazon Is Paying People To Take Playstation All-Stars From Them

This obviously won't last for very long, but Amazon is technically paying their own customers to buy Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale from them.

Technically that whole schtick would be stealing.

strangelove4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

How? It isn't returning the game. You're trading it in for the price they've set. The free Vita copy of the game only applies to new copies of the game, so anyone buying a used copy shouldn't expect to get it.

HammadTheBeast4011d ago

The headline is such flame bait.

TheUndertaker854011d ago

Paying for the title to turn around and sell it for profit is now stealing? News to me. Guess many people in the world should be in jail for theft after they bought their house then sold it down the line to make money...

guitarded774011d ago

I think you need to read the definition of stealing.

violents4011d ago

Why is everyone always looking to screw a retailer? Just pay for your damn games you cheap son of a...

Besides the fact Amazon is a really good retailer, they usually give really good deals and they even stopped selling certain games because people were having so many problems with it, which means they are looking out for consumer rights, why would you try to screw them intentionally?

Uh...

Amazon sets their prices for what they're willing to pay for trade ins and for what they charge for the game. Amazon is also the ones setting up their own promotions.

Long story short, Amazon in this case are the ones allowing themselves to get ripped off. Other retailers aren't not guilty of the same thing either.

violents4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

true, but this article is clearly telling you to return a game you bought specifically to get the vita version for free and get a couple bucks back. Just because a retailer gives good deals doesnt mean you should go out of your way to take advantage of them.

Mabey I just have a higher moral standard

@matrixman
"because not everyone is a 1%er or spoiled child. People need a cheap way to get what they enjoy"

How am I some 1%er by thinking you should pay for the items you own? I am a blue collar worker and by normal standards probably considered lower middle class. Excuse the hell out of me if I believe you should have a job that pays you and earn things in life instead of just trying to hustle corporations to get a free 2 dollars. If you worked that hard in real life instead of wasting your time trying to get a free video game you could prob afford to buy it like one of those 1%ers you seem to think I am.

@everyone

Just because a situtation can be abused to come out to your advantage doesnt mean you should do it. Being that we live in a "civilized society" begs the ideal that we should all hold higher morals than that. Either way you look at it you're taking advantage of someone and if enough people do it and they realize it, they will just stop giving deals all together and no one will get good deals.

Saying they set themselves up for this type of abuse is akin to saying a girl getting raped was asking for it by dressing provacatively.

Edited for spelling

It's not just with PlayStation All-Stars. There are plenty of games under this promotion that end up being worth more than they are "new," even eclipsing $60. Kotaku ran an article about this a few days back, and unfortunately it's limited to one $20 credit per customer, otherwise I'd be selling every game I've obtained in the last couple of months.

jcnba284011d ago

Damn is this game really that bad?

Rockefellow4011d ago

If you'd bothered to read the article, you'd realize this has nothing to do with the subjective quality of the game whatsoever.

It's far more entertaining when trolls put a little bit of intelligence behind their comments, so keep that in mind for next time, buddy.

sikbeta4011d ago

Looks like a honest question, didn't read the article and first thing I thought was that the games is really bad... and game didn't sell well like at all... there must be a reason right?

PS3Freak4011d ago

In response to your comment:

I wouldn't call it "bad". I enjoyed it quite a bit, but there is one MAJOR factor that holds it back for me; and that is the lack of ring-outs. The fact that the only way you can kill someone is with supers pretty much ruins the game for me.

I still enjoyed it, but it felt like something major was missing.

If there is a way to enable ring-outs please tell me.

dafegamer4011d ago

you and jcnba28, read before commenting

PS3Freak4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

Notice how I typed: "In response to your comment"

I read the article, and attempted to ensure that my comment was taken as purely a reply to jcnba28 based on his question "is this game really that bad?".

Clearly people lack reading comprehension on this site and I should be more diligent in future.

ritsuka6664010d ago (Edited 4010d ago )

Damn is this game really that bad? "

It's a rip-off Smash bros game... A shameless one. The entire concept is taken from Smash Bros.. So they did some minor changes to he gameplay... Big deal. Still a rip off.

Soldierone4011d ago

And this is why retailers never do promotions like this.... thanks.

violents4011d ago

Exactly, see my comments above.

At least theres one other guy in here who thinks people should pay for the things they own instead of taking advantage of a retailer that's trying to provide customers with a good deal.

It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.

CrimsonWing69513d ago

Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.

PapaBop513d ago

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.

spoonard513d ago

I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.

Magatsuhi513d ago

Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

Father__Merrin513d ago

Yes the power kills spoilt it completely WTH was they thinking you should have hp bar that's it

God of War: Ragnarok Weirdly Makes PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Canon

God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Nyxus520d ago

I wouldn't say canon. More like an easter egg.

Deathdeliverer519d ago

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
