Third-party developers were not aware that PlayStation 4 would include 8GB of GDDR5 RAM until Sony's reveal event in February - despite having received development kits long before the console's announcement.
The new update has arrived and is bringing a star with it.
Today, Destiny 2 developers hosted a livestream where they discussed in detail upcoming core game changes coming alongside The Edge of Fate expansion on July 15.
Sony kicks off PS Plus' 15th anniversary by chatting with Game File about the past, present and future of its gaming subscription service: Talking price, catalogue tweaks and where the PS3 games are.
Glad, I’m about to downgrade when they raise the price. For me, I don’t really access much or care about the games they have in the library and if I do, it’d be cheaper to just buy them over time rather than stick to some expensive subscription model.
Extra is probably the best value for money right now, Premium doesn't have anything special enough to justify paying the additional imo.
cloud streaming to the portal, without using the ps5, is the selling point of premium to me.
Very sneaky.
well, it was obvious seeing that most of the games announced were working with 2gbs of ram.
seeing that makes you realize, just imagine if they go full power.
Smart move.. This probably made MS think they had an advantage cuz im sure devs prolly gave them a heads up on what PS4 could do.. Then after the reveal, MS delayed their system announcement to try & make last minute upgrades lol.. Good job sony.. Keep everyone guessing & drop a bomb on that ass... They havent even shown what the console looks like & "other companies" are already scared of em..
Just want to point something out regarding the article.
The author seems to think DDR5 = GDDR5, which it isn't.
The PS4 uses 8GB of GDDR5, which is found on most modern graphics cards.
Wanted to clear that up so people aren't confused.
