Oh look, it's the: "if you don't like it why don't you do it yourself" guy.
Criticizing something does not require one to be able to do that thing better. By that logic, you shouldn't listen to what a huge majority of movie critics say. Get over yourself.
In fairness, he doesn't look that bad. It fits the artstyle seen in the newer games, more.
It becomes more difficult to be original, the more they produce. So cut them some slack. I think anyone that actually enjoys these games is willing to do that.
However, some of the designs we saw in gen 5 were just plain lazy, and not akin to the previous generations. Pokemon like Vanillite, and Chandelure made it feel like they were taking shortcuts with their design process (ie looking around a room, picking inanimate objects and making them into pokemon). Seriously, an Ice Cream cone and a Chandeleir?
With that in mind. Provided Gen 6 is better than gen 5, I certainly won't be complaining. Based on the starters and what we've seen so far, it looks pretty good. I'm not going to hate on the designs just because Mewtwo has a new form. Independently it's not bad either, just his old form looked more badass.
Muk, koffing, digglet (which evolves into three digletts! So creative!) Voltrob (a freaking pokeball for Christ's sake!) Ditto (pink Jilly with eyes) krabby ( a generic crab) jynx, drowzee, Exegegcute (EGGS WITH FACES!!!!)
Am not saying that the first gen designs sucks at all, but don't pretend like they are the pinnacle of creativity when it comes to design.
Every gen have it own good designs and bad designs.
Or hey if you really don't like them you just don't have to buy it! How about that! The jump to 3D should be enough for anyone and honestly these are the best looking starters since probably gen 3,,the 2 legendaries were also sick, the eeveelution is alright..and this one is a lot better than the leaked images!
And here's my favorite piece of advice as long as you are indeed a pokemon fan and not some turd trying to piss the rest of us off...only catch the pokemon YOU actually like. Even if they're not that great in battle the whole point of this game is to make an awesome team unique to yourself...who cares if you don't like all 100 new pokemon? All you need is 6
"This new Pokémon shares many traits with Mewtwo and it’s suspected that the newly discovered Pokémon has a connection with Mewtwo—a powerful Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue."
That's from the press release. Apparently it's a completely new Pokemon. Not a redesign of an already established one.
Why ruin the old Pokemon, kids today arn't going to know much about the old ones so why ruin their image for US older pokemon fans.
Seriously why does Mewtwo even have a second form...HE'S A CLONE. Surley Mew would be the first to have a second form, so if Mew dosen't then why does Mewtwo. I'm pretty sure a failed clone of a Pokemon wouldn't be able to have a second evolution.
Well, going into that form will likely give benefits in the game such as increased physical attack damage or a different special ability. The same reason other pokemon such as arceus and giratina have different forms.
@Root agreed i wish they didnt ruin the older pokemon at least not the legendary ones.
@topdudeman doubt that the video only showed him doing moves that were special attacks i dont think it will be a stat thing but maybe an ability or second type change or something
At least we finally have a potentially good looking fire pokemon starter. We have had a shitty pig (only generation I started water) and an average monkey (which wasn't really that bad).
Infact, last generation designs were the worse. This generation is looking pretty OK atm imo.

Like I thought before, Kid Buu has made his way into Pokémon
Edit: Mew3 (i'mma gonna refer to it as that since this form doesn't have a name yet) has 6 moves... Is Gamefreak allowing more usable moves in battle, or just showcasing some of the moves Mew3 has??
It hasn't been confirmed as a new forme. There's as much a chance that it's a brand new Pokemon (maybe a new experiment by Giovanni) as it being a new forme of Mew or Mewtwo.
its not a new form, why was this approved? it's a new pokemon completely...but yh it's ugly as hell gen six is a big letdown so far. Hideous new eveelution now this...
Its been confirmed as being related to Mewtwo, no one knows if it an evolution or alternate form. Of course its a new pokemon, just because its new it doesnt mean it cant be related with older pokemons.
Yeah... I guess that first comment was so brilliant you had to write it twice.
Question: If you went to the doctor and had an operation, and the surgeon forgot his knife inside your stomach, would you then have to be able to perform the operation yourself in order to criticise him/her?
If this is all they unveiled, they REALLY disappointed. Seriously, what person wanted this? What person is going to be using this? I would've rather had them reveal the new bird and rodent Pokemon than this waste of cartridge space.
i wonder why they gave mew2 a new form. like when Deoxes got new forms some stats were lowered some Waay higher. Mew2 tho had pretty high stats across the board especially SP.Atk.
This may sound absurd, but what if this is Team Plasma's own version of Mew? In the anime, Team Plasma and Team Rocket have a rivalry. Team Rocket cloned Mew and created Mewtwo. So, Team Plasma is going to create Mewthree (or this new form).
There are theorists who think Genesect is really a heavily modified Kabutops (look it up. The similarities are astounding!). And the place Mewtwo went to at the end of the Mewtwo movie (either the first or second Mew2 movie, I forget) looked like New York, which is the influence of Gen V's Castelia City, which is located in the Unova region. Could Team Plasma have captured the movie Mewtwo, and modified it into this? Or maybe they just got hold of some of its DNA, and by cloning the clone of Mew, instead of getting an exact copy of Mewtwo, it comes out smaller (but slightly taller than Mew) than Mewtwo, and is also stronger than both Mew and Mewtwo combined (much like how Kid Buu is the strongest and the smallest out of all the Buus).
I gave up on Pokemon about 5 years ago. The last Pokemon game I bought was SoulSilver because it had the johto pokemon. The designs are just getting sad. It's all about money now. I'm never buying a Pokemon game again. F*ck it to hell now. I miss how it used to be. The music, the originality, everything. :(
People like you are hilarious, if the designs were flipped and this was the original Mewtwo (the old one being the new) you would still be crying out. Type combinations and new battle moves are why every new generation is exciting, as long as I like a handful it's a success to me.
You are a piece of shit. You yourself cannot admit that the designs are getting ridiculous now. I'm pointing out that Pokemon isn't as good as it once was because they're dragging on the series pointlessly. Anyways it's an opinion. If the games and the anime make people happy then good. I don't need someone telling someone like me who grew up with the original Pokemon and having it get worse as each generation goes by. Every new generation is exciting? LOL. Seriously, screw you.
Why are you guys arguing over something like this. Pokemon is great. People enjoy it. Some may not like the new generation but it's here so deal with it. The New Mewtwo looks interesting...
The designs have always been ridiculous but that's why it's great, the series hasn't exactly changed the basic formula so I don't see how it got worse. Every Generation does however change the competitive aspect of the game so it's not exactly pointless "dragging on" as you say. Oh you grew up with originals? well congratulations so did I and a trillion other people. I guess I should keep living in the 90's and go on about how original eggsecute, grimer, ditto and magnemite are, such though into design. They can slap an eyeball on a magnet but God forbid a candle have a face.
I disagree. I think each gen has had some amazing designs, some so-so, and some terrible ones.
Look at Gen 1 - Blastoise, Charizard, Arcanine, Dragonite. But also things like Muk, Voltorb, Magnemite, exeggcute, Krabby.
Lets talk Gen 5 - Haxorus, Serperior, Samurott, Krookodle, Liepard, etc.
Each generation has some great designs, and some crappy ones. Some are very original, some aren't. This "after Johto every pokemon sucks" mentality has to go. Generation 3 was so-so, but 4 & 5 had some amazing designs.
The music is still great, the pokemon are still original. Black & White probably had the best plot out of all the games.
And look up Yveltal, the new legendary for generation 6. It looks beast.
Okay this is just my guess but I think pokemon X and Y will be about greater visuale differences between male and female forms of pokemon. this is just a look at the female version of mewtwo? Just my guess. Cuz if that's the case I think that's a cool form of a female mewtwo.
Ewww
poop

Awww nobody asked for this :(
Mewtwo was awesome as it was
holy crap,
what the hell is this?
