Joss Whedon Says The Hulk is One Tricky SOB
Yahoo Movies:
Can Joss Whedon bring us the definitive Hulk movie? Maybe, but the writer and director seems iffy about the idea.
During an appearance at the Glasgow Film Festival, Whedon, who directed 2012's critical and commercial success "The Avengers," was asked about the possibility of making a film about Bruce Banner's ill-tempered alter ego. Whedon's reply was vague. Whedon said a good Hulk film could be done but, "it would be very, very hard. Hulk is a tricky son of a bitch. He's the Claudio of superheroes."
The Hulk has long been a favorite among fans of the Marvel Comics multi-verse, but unlike many Marvel characters, getting his story on screen has proven tricky. Fans were largely disappointed with Ang Lee's 2003 "Hulk," with Eric Bana in the title role, and while 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" got a better reception, many felt Edward Norton as the green guy and director Louis Leterrier didn't quite capture the character. Whedon cast Mark Ruffalo in the role for "The Avengers," and the combination felt like a winner. But Whedon seems hesitant about revisiting the Hulk in his own full-length story.
