Race Driver: GRID interview: 360/PS3 differences, demo

With the excellent Burnout Paradise and Project Gotham Racing 4 currently satisfying virtual speed junkies, racing fans are covered. Not so, says Codemasters. And to prove it, they're readying Racedriver: GRID for the track this summer on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Nintendo DS. VideoGamer.com caught up with chief games designer Ralph Fulton to ask him what the team has done to make Racedriver the best ever in the series.

He said: "EGO is a multi-platform engine which has been designed to make developing on all three platforms as simple as possible. We don't have a lead platform, and the differences between the consoles will be pretty negligible."

A demo for upcoming driving game Racedriver: GRID is planned for the start of May, VideoGamer.com has learned.

Right, although i havent seen anyone excited about this title im sure that as "360/PS3 differences" is in the title this will get alot of heat.

But like the developers stated..."differences between the consoles will be pretty negligible", so lets not get our knickers in a twist.

I'll await the demo before i case any judgement.

Gameplay-wise, I'm waiting for the demo to test out the gameplay, but based on the screenshots, the graphics look like some of the best this gen.

this was one of the only racing game to feature the aussie racing scene and now they have ditched it. no sale codemasters

does this game use the same engine as dirt?

i hope not, dirt was an awful game with very poor physics.
it was almost as though the cars had no weight.

It wasn't very realistic, but I thought it was a lot of fun once you got used to the controls. The damage modeling(on both the car and surroundings) was awesome and I hope they keep it in GRID. That's something I'd like to see in Gran Turismo 5.

Motorstorm and Gran Turismo is the only ones I care about. Motorstorm for the over the top and fun crashes, dirt, and physics. And Gran Turismo 5 for the only true current gen simulation for cars.

Forza is my main racing game, sorry but until ive played the new GT5 for a few weeks to compare its still my top.
This looks ok but the racing looks a bit arcadey to me. Saying that Toca racing has been good before.

Where the hell is the PSP version. I have too many big story driven games to play on my PS3. The PSP is perfect for when I want short play sessions and racing games are ideal for it
