I love Platinum games and I really love Metal Gear, so this was a day one the minute I saw the reveal trailer. Though I would have loved to see what a fully realized Kojima style game would have been like, the version we are getting from Platinum Games doesn't seem to be a slouch either. Cant wait to pop my copy in.

Just shows that a dumbed down hack and slash can get better scores than a technically brilliant hack and slash.

It took me 7 Hours for just the gameplay without story on hard. Just play it on very hard and you will suffer. Try collecting the stuff on very hard. Then Complete the game on Revengeance with S rank. If you managed to do that you will be satisfied.

The challenge is accepted for me. I'm gonna get the platinume !! muhahahaha xD I'm getting crazy lol

The biggest game sites like IGN usually rates games from 7 to 10. Meaning 8,5 is a good game but not something that is truly special.

I have not played the game and i don't use reviews to decide if I'm buying a game or not. I just shared my point of view on how IGN and other big game sites rate games and in very short what the scores mean.

People are used to seeing Metal Gear games get amazing reviews, anything below that questions how good the game is.

If it was a new IP, then this would be a fantastic score and nobody would lift an eyelid

All of those games got below a 9 average as well. This game was never marketed as a Kojima title that continues the series. Was there an outcry for Uncharted: Fight For Fortune?

I'm sure some didn't expect it to even get a 8.5. If it's a fun game then it's a fun game, give credit where credit is due.

Typical response, no real direct rebuttal because you know once again you're stretching. This game is not meant to be the next chapter in the series. 8.5 is a very decent score, no matter how much you want to spin things.

For me it was just boring and a bit convoluted I could see the potential but it played a bit off for me and it looked terrible.

Ah maybe its one of those where I just suck at it, will have to try the demo again as it seems to be getting pretty high praise. Then again I didn't like Bayonetta and people kept on gushing over it.

You have to learn the mechanics to really enjoy the combat. Once youve figured out your playstyle you will enjoy it more and more.

Also the final build is much better runs smoother and generally feels mores polished
