Japanese Sales Data: Media Create hardware sales for 18/2 – 24/2

According to the latest figures from Media Create, Nintendo’s Wii outsold the PS3 by over 3-to-1 in Japan for the week ending the 24th of February and the Xbox 360 by nearly 29-to-1.

The handheld race has been contentious for the past couple of weeks. Two weeks ago the PSP led by quite a margin, however, the Nintendo DS emerged as the victor last week, although the winning margin was slightly smaller. This week the PSP takes second place on the hardware chart and claims first prize in the handheld race. The Nintendo DS sold slightly less than the PSP so the competition is far from over.
