"The explosion of free-to-play gaming seems to indicate, on one level, that more and more gamers are moving to this model for gaming, and that it’s a more profitable model than the traditional ‘cash-up-front’ model that gives you full access to a whole game as soon as you’ve bought it. The question remains, however, of how sustainable this model really is. Ultimately, free-to-play games are, ironically, more expensive than regular games, and sooner or later that will become apparent to most free-to-play gamers. It is at this point that the long-term future of the free-to-play model will become clear."

They become locked down PCs just brand labeled and have a royalty on every game sold ;-)

Hell even with the current gen the only real console was the Wii.

Just by looking at how many are online playing Black Ops 2 one can see 1 of many reasons why consoles aint going anywhere.

Usually on PC there are about 33.000 players online playing. On X360 there are 600.000....

And that is 1 game.

Do the math ;)
