Just days after the acquisition of Swedish developer DICE, the firm quietly shut down the London, Ontario office. Although EA did not make any official announcement news of the closure soon leaked out.
An EA spokesperson told Next-Gen, "The DICE facility in London Ontario is being closed and development at that studio will move to the DICE studio in Stockholm, Sweden.
She added, "Roughly 30 employees in the London, Ontario office are impacted. Several of the DICE/London employees are interviewing for positions at
other EA facilities in North America, including EA's three Canadian
studio locations in Burnaby, Vancouver and Montreal."
The new unit comprises over 500 developers representing the entire World of Warcraft development team.
