30 Minutes of Game: Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger (クロノ・トリガー Kurono Torigā?) is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. Chrono Trigger's development team included three designers that Square dubbed the "Dream Team": Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series; Yuji Horii, a freelance designer and creator of Enix's popular Dragon Quest series; and Akira Toriyama, a freelance manga artist famed for his work with Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball. Kazuhiko Aoki produced the game, Masato Kato wrote most of the plot, while composer Yasunori Mitsuda scored most of the game before falling ill and deferring remaining tracks to Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu. The game's story follows a group of adventurers who travel through time to prevent a global catastrophe.

camel_toad4567d ago

Tzuno4567d ago

The snes still number 1 console.

they need to remake this for the ps3 or 3ds with better graphics like 3d model graphics and have the world look amazing and open world while keeping the rest of the game the same

bwazy4567d ago (Edited 4567d ago )

No, no they really don't.

This game is a piece of art that shows that we don't need games/devs devoting 9/10 of their budgets and time to CG's and graphics, but rather establishing captivating storytelling, character development and extremely solid game play. As (imo) those are what matter the most.

Although it wasn't to say that this game didn't look quite nice in its day (as it still looks quite nice now.)

If they're going to devote ANY resources into Chrono Trigger, then I want it to be in the form of a officially licensed sequel, or at least allowing the fan based one to be legally released.

vork774567d ago

well if the sequel was abiut cronos son and his father and Marle vanish from the world and it turns out crono and Marle is stuck in time frozen and there son must find out when or where they are

McLuvn4567d ago

They don't make em like that anymore:(

NeXXXuS4567d ago

All those feels... Hold me bro T_T

J86blum4567d ago

If they remade this using the same chars and looks on the wiiu I would run out and buy one in a heartbeat.(looks to icon)...

bwazy4567d ago

You do realize that you can just use an emulator and play it right now? There is no justification to spend 250+ dollars on a system to play a game that has been released countless times on cheaper devices.

J86blum4567d ago

And you down voted me due to your simple lack of understanding. I was make a comment in regards to how the Sony Playstation 3 did a tech demo for FFVII. That is how I would like to see Chrono Trigger.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil38d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
