Wii U had the Best Launch Titles

"The Wii U is out and I have to say it has exceeded all my expectations, which should have been nearly impossible with the amount of excitement I experienced while waiting to wrap my arms around it on November 18th. While this isn’t actually a review of the system, it is a bit of interesting information that I discovered this week. The Wii U appears to have a better lineup of launch games than any console. This is clearly my opinion, but one based on research and nostalgia. I won’t start too far back, I figured Fifth Generation and on would suffice for this demonstration." -RoboAwesome.com

ok but not the best launch somehow.

HammadTheBeast4526d ago

More than half are ports, and he fails to mention the Vita lineup.

RoboSpiff4525d ago

this was for consoles, obviously.

Well, launch lineups have never been that impresive. I say this is a solid one. How did ports become a bad thing?!? Exclusives are needed but ports aren't a bad thing at all.

profgerbik4526d ago (Edited 4526d ago )

That Red Steel ad is super low class and most those Wii U games he mentions are the bottom of the barrel in my opinion.

I get Sonic All Stars may very well be fun but it's just such a generic take on Sonic as it has been for years now. I can't endure anymore of that crap they throw Sonic in.

I am hedgehog who can run at the speed of light if I wanted to.. but no let's race some vehicles.. sick of all these karting games anyway.

I don't think including ports really counts either.. ZombiU definetely didn't live up the hype by any means as well.

Feralkitsune4526d ago

How doesn't it not count? They are still good games either way. Why are people going out of their way to trash the WiiU? Sure it's no where near a power house, but it's serves it's purpose.

Also, I think zombiU is fine.

Jinkies4526d ago

Ports don't count, I'm sorry they just don't

In the end the best games it had was New Super Mario Bros (Basicaly Super Mario Bros Wii in HD), Zombi U and Nintendoland

"Nintendo has no third party games."

*Nintendo gets third party games*

"Ports don't count."

Oh N4G logic, you never fail.

HammadTheBeast4526d ago

Ports shouldn't,t count though. If you have any of the past Gen consoles, there's no reason to buy them again.

PopRocks3594526d ago (Edited 4526d ago )

Unless you prefer the features on them. I made a conscious decision to get Darksiders II and Assassin's Creed III on Wii U because I wanted the off-screen feature. I use it for both games just about each night that I choose to have some game time.

I'm sure someone will throw the "That's just because you're a fanboy" card in my face, but that's my reasoning and I doubt I'm the only one who enjoys said feature for the games that support it.

Jinkies4525d ago

Yeah third party games which would be released at the same time, not ports which have been released for last gen consoles.

Mounce4525d ago

Third Party Game = Ports?

Oh PopRocks359's Logic, I don't know you at all, but your logic surely always fails if your head is that far up your ass.

PopRocks3594525d ago (Edited 4525d ago )

@Jinkies

So the problem is timing. You're aware that the only two older ports are Batman and Mass Effect, right? Almost everything else was released rather shortly before the launch of the Wii U. If we have to get into specifics, games like Assassin's Creed III and Tekken Tag 2 were released a few weeks, a month at most, before the Wii U came out.

@Mounce

My head is up my ass because I consider third party ports to be ports from third party developers?

Honest question; are you stupid? Because you just made the dumbest comment I've ever seen on this site.

Wii U = Wii revamped to finally join this generation.

The launch titles are littered with content already out on the other two HD consoles.

The exclusive lineup is weak. There is not a single Wii U game above 80 percent on metacritic that wasn not originally shipped in some other form on a previous console... Whether it be the 3DS, 360, PS3, etc.

The games may be strong, but most gamers have seen them and played them all before elsewhere.

mochachino4526d ago

The best launch was N64 with Mario. Even though it was just one game it provided an entirely new gaming experience, with great graphics. If Wii U had an equivalent game, I'd own a Wii U right now. Sadly, Wii Us best launch games can be had on cheaper consoles that run them better.

I think Wii U launch line up is among the worst Nintendo has ever had. The only thing worse was Virtual Boys.

There's no killer app.

What If... Destiny 2's Gambit Was a Hit?

In a world where Gambit thrived, Destiny 2’s seasons, storylines, and even its endgame might’ve revolved around PvEvP as a core foundation.

Destiny already has the pretty hyper 'raid' fixation and then they added legendary raid dungeons. Hyperfixating in PvEvP wouldn't work as well because you need a lot more than 2% of the userbase to keep that going unlike raids that are propped up by streamers who make running them their whole job. Most players don't play all the raids let alone run them over and over. And most who play PvP don't want structured PvE elements.
