Eskimo Press - Towns Review

Eskimo Press: "Towns was recently greenlit by the Steam community and can now be purchased directly of the popular digital game distribution program, Steam. Towns is an itty bitty game (byte-wise), the size alone made me look forward to seeing what could be done with a byte budget of 19MB."

Their last game was Anthem, of course people are waiting for reviews

TricksterArrow2d ago

Yep. BioWare has been pumping bad games after bad games. Anthem, Andromeda... Also, the first trailer for Veilguard was abysmal, not only that plus the development cycle was very well known to be extremely troublesome. While the gameplay videos look nice, I think it's fair to say that people are on a "wait and see" approach.

Gamings-Last-Legend2d ago

Facts. The art style and companions look AWFUL. I can't believe how terrible the game looks when dragon age 3 was so incredible.

Dragon Age: MoDeRn AuDiEnCeS

Almost all the original talents who made early Mass Effect and Dragon Age series has left. It’s all just subpar replacements handling IPs they don’t deserve.

Redgrave1d 19h ago

You know, you have to wonder if they never shuttered Anthem 2.0.... if they would have been able to have a redemption and not have this cloud of uncertainty looming over them. Not that they've really done anything to warrant anything besides uncertainty and expected disappointment

IAMRealHooman2d ago

we've been burned by the industry too many times its a wait and see now

Miacosa2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Make sense something seems off about this title can't point to what however but I hope it works for people that have been hyped for it. At the same time, I can't help but think it's going be a pseudo letdown.

Armaggedon2d ago

Bioware hasn’t quite been themselves in the past few years. Even if the game is really good, Bioware must earn back the trust they had.

Lionsguard2d ago

Bioware we once knew and loved is long dead along with many others. They're just here in name now taken over by talentless morons who have no business making games. Don't buy it, let them tank just like Concord. Consumers have shown that we have power.

Borderlands 4 head admits defeat after wishing death of Steam

Gearbox Studios lead Randy Pitchford has admitted defeat against Valve’s PC gaming storefront Steam. Five years after claiming the store was in death throes, the Borderlands 4 head has finally accepted his mistake.

I guess that EPIC check wasn't all that it was cracked up to be.

DaCajun26d ago

I don't understand him or others who wish for Steam to crash and burn. Yes they charge 30% but so does Sony on playstation, Microsoft on Xbox and pretty much most other gaming platforms. Yes Epic does charge less but their storefront is garbage and I would bet money if they were top dog they would jack their fees up just like every for-profit company is and had been doing forever. Such ignorance to believe Epic was only doing it for the devs and players. It will always be about the greed for money and power.

TheNamelessOne25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

100% agree with everything you've said. All they were trying to do was strong-arm themselves to the storefront leader and quickly.

Goodguy0127d ago

Steam is way too good on the customer to die off.

neutralgamer199226d ago

As a new PC gamer steam is awesome. User friendly, great customer service and all
In one store

TheColbertinator26d ago

Yes precisely. Best of all Valve didn't buy its way out of its problems with Steam. It made a service that people actually want and supports developers and communities fairly. Discounts are commonplace and indie support is strong.

The other PC storefront owners like Ubisoft, Microsoft, EA and Epic should take notes.

CantThinkOfAUsername25d ago

Wish they could put some work into the phone app and Big Picture Mode.

DustMan25d ago

I've been a steam user since it's inception with Half-Life 2. The platform has never done me wrong. Yet, to be fair. Epic, and GOG have been consumer friendly as well. I never had trouble getting refunds through any of the three I mentioned.

U-Play and Origin/ea app whatever they are using now are the worst.

anast26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

I heard about this guy.

TyrantStarmer26d ago

Steam's been around since just before Half Life 2. And was installed on tons of new PCs when that great game came out.

Snookies1226d ago

Hah, I thought it was a bit before that. But, I guess I've been on Steam since it basically launched considering I have the "20 years of service" medal. Pretty cool I still have my account from Steam's first year.

CantThinkOfAUsername25d ago

Yeah, and people hated it so much just like console hardcore fans hating on digital today. Its adoption really took off in 2007.
